Food security is national security. That’s why I worked to secure funding for Food for Peace and the McGovern-Dole program in this year’s Agriculture Appropriations Act. Both programs help connect American farmers with the mission of feeding hungry people around the world using American-grown commodities while strengthening markets for U.S. agriculture.

For months, Washington Democrats have refused to support the resources needed to secure our borders and enforce immigration laws. @HouseGOP just passed the Secure America Act, which funds DHS, Border Patrol, and ICE for the next three years while supporting critical national security programs.

Kansans deserve access to affordable, quality health care no matter their ZIP code. I was proud to see @KDHE award funding to more than 22 health care organizations across Kansas—including 17 in the Big First—through the Rural Health Transformation Program. This funding, made possible by the Working Families Tax Cuts, represents the largest investment in history to support long-term, community-driven solutions for rural health facilities.

Loved giving Kansas FFA students a night tour of the Capitol last week. As a farm kid and former FFA chapter president from Quinter, I have seen firsthand just how valuable the FFA experience can be for one's future as a leader and an agricultural professional. Another month of @POTUS exceeding job estimates from the so-called “experts”. @HouseGOP lowered your taxes across the board last summer, and now we are seeing the benefits. Promises made, promises kept.

Last night, the House passed the FY27 Agriculture Appropriations Act. The bill strengthens American agriculture, supports rural communities, invests in animal health and disease prevention, and protects programs that help Kansas producers feed a hungry world. It also includes priorities I advocated for, including Food for Peace, McGovern-Dole, and continued focus on HPAI research and response.

Last week, @POTUS and @SecScottBessent launched the Trump Accounts app, giving families a new opportunity to build long-term financial security and invest in America’s future. I was proud to vote for the pro-growth, pro-family Working Families Tax Cuts package @HouseGOP passed last summer, which created this program and delivered another win for families across the Big First. Kansas values are rooted in family, hard work, personal responsibility, and faith. The BUILD America 250 Act is a major step toward modernizing America’s infrastructure and preparing our transportation system for the future. This bipartisan Surface Transportation Reauthorization makes historic investments in roads and bridges, cuts red tape to get projects built faster, and strengthens the Highway Trust Fund for the long term.

Great to host @USDA Under Secretary @LukeJLindberg in the Big First this week. We toured Kansas State’s milling and grain facilities, visited the Kansas Wheat Innovation Center, and met with Kansas agricultural leaders to discuss trade, global food security, and the future of Food for Peace.   Luke has successfully implemented many of my biggest priorities in Congress, including continued investment in the Market Access Program, Foreign Market Development program, and now the move of Food for Peace to its rightful home at USDA.

It was great to catch up with Head Coach Collin Klein this morning on campus. @KStateFB is lucky to have him back in Manhattan, and us Wildcat fans have a lot to be excited about going forward with Coach Klein at the helm. Go ‘Cats!
