When FIFA comes to town, Philadelphia will be on the world stage. Unfortunately, a proposed 40-day extension allowing additional hours for bars to sell alcohol could bring noise to otherwise quiet neighborhoods. I welcome the event, but not the extension as it currently stands.

Bills passed by the #PASenate Tuesday are inadequate. Their transit bill increases fares & cuts $$ for safety. Their budget bill fails to fund schools & services properly. I stand with other Democrats for a better solution. The good news: at least the Senate came back to work.

For far too long cyber charter schools have been unaccountable and have charged widely varying tuition rates to school districts. I'm very excited to announce that my bill to address these issues has just passed the #PaHouse!

Dog fighting not only is a cruel crime against animals, it also breeds more criminal activity like, child sexual assault, illegal firearms, drug trafficking, domestic violence and money laundering. I'm dedicated to ending this heinous crime along with @PADemPolicy .

The Environmental Resources & Energy committee toured Three Mile Island in anticipation of its reactivation. Reopening the plant is expected to create over 3,000 secure, well-paying jobs for Pennsylvanians and help us find new sources of energy.
