This summer, I’m encouraging students across Florida’s 7th District to pick up a book and join the Mills Summer Story Quest! Elementary and middle school students who read and log at least 5 books over summer break will receive a Congressional Certificate of Recognition and a free book from the Library of Congress Surplus Books Program. The top 3 students who read the most grade-level books will also receive a special recognition award from my office. Summer is the perfect time to grow your imagination, strengthen your skills, and discover a love of learning. I hope students across FL-07 will join the challenge and make reading part of their summer adventure!

My team was proud to attend the AECOM Innovation Demonstration at the Altamonte Springs wastewater facility, where local leaders and industry partners are advancing cutting-edge solutions to protect our environment and strengthen our community. Through a partnership with AECOM and Genifuel, Altamonte Springs is pioneering technology that removes PFAS, commonly known as "forever chemicals,” from the water supply while converting waste and byproducts into renewable fuel. This innovative approach is helping ensure cleaner water, greater sustainability, and a stronger future for Central Florida. Thank you to the City of Altamonte Springs and its partners for leading the way on solutions that benefit both residents and the environment.

My office was honored to attend the ribbon cutting for Opportunity, Community, Ability's new facility in Longwood, a major milestone for individuals with autism and other disabilities across Central Florida. OCA creates opportunities for children and adults to learn, play, and grow alongside their peers, and this new facility will help expand that mission for years to come. We are grateful to OCA and Orlando Health for their partnership and commitment to building a stronger, more inclusive community. Congratulations on this exciting new chapter!

I proudly joinced Chairman Westerman (R-AR) and Ranking Member Huffman (D-CA) in co-sponsoring the Great American Outdoors Act 250 to invest in our national parks, public lands, and outdoor recreation infrastructure across the nation and Florida’s 7th District. This bipartisan legislation will help restore trails, campgrounds, boat ramps, and hunting and fishing sites while supporting more than 72,000 jobs and strengthening rural economies. As America approaches its 250th birthday, we're preserving our outdoor heritage and ensuring future generations can enjoy our nation's greatest treasures.

For too long, Washington has tolerated waste, fraud, and abuse at the expense of hardworking American taxpayers. The federal government has made an estimated $2.8 trillion in improper payments since 2003, while hundreds of billions of dollars are lost to fraud every year. Every dollar stolen through fraudulent government programs is a dollar that cannot go toward serving our veterans, seniors, and families who truly need it. That's why I supported H. Res. 1335 and voted to advance eleven Oversight Committee bills aimed at protecting taxpayer funds and combating fraud across federal programs. Taxpayer dollars deserve accountability, strong oversight, proper verification, and real consequences for those who exploit the system. Americans expect their government to be responsible stewards of their hard-earned money, and House Republicans are working to ensure waste, fraud, and abuse are no longer treated as the cost of doing business.

I’m proud to share that I successfully secured more than $6 million in federal funding recommendations for critical projects across Florida’s Seventh Congressional District. These investments will strengthen infrastructure, improve public safety, expand healthcare access, support addiction recovery services, protect our environment, and enhance storm resilience throughout our communities. Highlights include: • $392,000 for Orlando Men’s Home through Teen Challenge of Florida to expand substance abuse treatment and recovery services. • $700,000 for the City of Casselberry’s English Estates Water Main Replacement Project to modernize aging water infrastructure and improve fire protection. • $700,000 for the City of Edgewater’s Wetlands Reclaimed Water Project to protect the Indian River Lagoon and improve water management. • $1,000,000 for Edgewater’s Reuse Pond Pump Station to reduce flooding and strengthen stormwater infrastructure. • $700,000 for stormwater improvement projects in Lake Helen to enhance drainage and water quality. • $700,000 for the City of Oviedo’s Artesia Street Culvert Replacement Project to address aging infrastructure and mitigate flooding risks. • $750,000 for the Volusia County Shore Protection and Coastal Resiliency Study, a critical step toward protecting our coastline from future storm impacts. • $1,100,000 for the Central Florida Family Health Center to modernize technology systems, improve cybersecurity, and strengthen emergency healthcare operations.

Border security is national security. That’s why I voted for the Secure America Act. For years, Americans have watched a preventable crisis unfold as cartels grew richer, fentanyl flooded our communities, and law enforcement operated under constant political uncertainty. This legislation fully funds and stabilizes CBP, ICE, and DHS through 2029, ending the cycle of political games around border security. It delivers:
✔️ $22B for Border Patrol and CBP
✔️ $38B for ICE enforcement and removals
✔️ $3.45B to combat fentanyl and cartel trafficking
✔️ Expanded resources to combat child exploitation
✔️ Stronger cooperation with local law enforcement

I voted for the Secure America Act because border security is national security. For years, Americans watched a preventable crisis unfold, cartels grow richer, fentanyl flood communities, and law enforcement be forced to operate under political uncertainty. This bill fully funds and stabilizes U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Department of Homeland Security through 2029—ending the cycle of political games with border security. It delivers: • $22B for Border Patrol and CBP • $38B for ICE enforcement and removals • $3.45B to stop fentanyl and cartel trafficking • Expanded resources to combat child exploitation • Stronger cooperation with local law enforcement

The United States must remain vigilant against any attempt by the Iranian regime to exploit international events for political purposes. That’s why I joined Congressman Greg Steube’s resolution supporting the State Department’s efforts to ensure that individuals with ties to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a U.S.-designated Foreign Terrorist Organization, are not embedded within Iran’s World Cup delegation during its time in the United States. Athletes coming to compete should feel safe. There's no debate, America’s national security must always come first and the World Cup must not be used as a vehicle for regime operatives to gain access to our country.

On June 6, 1944, thousands of brave American and Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy and parachuted behind enemy lines, launching the operation that helped liberate Europe from tyranny and secure victory in World War II. Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering resolve of the Greatest Generation. FDR said "Hitler built a fortress around Europe, but he forgot to put a roof on it." Previously, on the 80th anniversary of D-Day, I was honored to participate in a parachute jump over Normandy alongside fellow veteran Members of Congress to recognize and commemorate the greatness of our heroes 🇺🇸

Florida's farmers, ranchers, and rural communities are the backbone of our economy and they deserve a government that puts America First. Im proud to join my colleagues on the Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act 2027, which cuts wasteful spending, ends failed climate programs, strengthens food and drug safety, and protects American farmland from foreign adversaries like Communist China. This bill increases oversight of foreign-owned farmland, boosts inspections of drug manufacturing facilities in China and India, supports healthier food choices for families, and invests in the agriculture and rural development priorities that matter most. And despite what critics are saying, this bill fully funds SNAP and WIC for the Americans who need them. In Florida's 7th District, we know that strong farms, safe food, and thriving rural communities mean a stronger America. I'm fighting to protect our food supply, support our producers, and ensure our agricultural future remains in American hands, not China's.

Taxpayers shouldn’t be footing the bill for fraud, especially when those dollars are meant to help families who genuinely need childcare. Yesterday, I voted for the STOP Child Care Scams Act to crack down on fraud, waste, and abuse in federal childcare programs. This legislation increases accountability for states that repeatedly fail to address serious violations and helps ensure childcare assistance reaches the working families it was intended to serve. The people who need these programs deserve support. Taxpayers deserve accountability. This bill helps deliver both.

I’m proud to co-sponsor Tyler’s Law to strengthen fentanyl detection and improve overdose response in emergency rooms. Fentanyl deaths have skyrocketed in recent years and too many hospitals still do not routinely test for the deadly drug during overdose cases. This limits critical information for lifesaving treatment. This bill directs HHS to study current hospital testing practices and issue guidance to improve fentanyl screening in emergency departments. Improving detection means improving response, and ultimately saving lives.

America's 250th birthday is just around the corner. I'm honored to join the Congressional America250 Caucus as we prepare to celebrate 250 years of freedom, self-government, and the enduring American spirit. As we approach July 4, 2026, I'll work alongside my colleagues to ensure Americans across the country and right here in Florida's 7th District have opportunities to participate in events and activities commemorating this historic milestone. Our nation's story is one of courage, sacrifice, and the pursuit of liberty. I look forward to helping honor our past while inspiring the next generation to carry the torch of freedom forward.

We honor the generations of patriots, service members, first responders, and hardworking Americans who built and defended this great country. From sea to shining sea, we are blessed to live in the land of opportunity, liberty, and self-government. This month, let's proudly fly the Stars and Stripes, celebrate our shared heritage, and remember that despite our differences, we are all Americans.

My team had the incredible opportunity to attend Marine Day 2026 at Quantico and experience firsthand what it means to earn the title United States Marine. From riding in an MV-22 Osprey to watching the unmatched power and precision of the F-35 in action, the day was a powerful reminder of the discipline, sacrifice, and excellence demonstrated by our Marines every day. Thank you to the United States Marine Corps for putting on an incredible event and for your unwavering dedication to protecting America.

As hurricane season begins, preparation is key for families across Florida’s 7th District. Now is the time to review your emergency plans, build or restock your supply kits, and stay informed through official weather and emergency management updates. Every household should have: • A family communication and evacuation plan • Emergency supplies to last 3–7 days • Important documents secured in waterproof containers • Backup chargers, medications, food, and water ready to go Residents should also take steps to secure their homes by reinforcing windows and doors, clearing gutters, and reviewing insurance coverage before storms develop. Prepared communities recover stronger and faster. Please check in on neighbors, seniors, and those who may need extra assistance during emergencies. Grateful to hear President Trump is safe after the shooting near the White House this evening. Thank you to the brave Secret Service agents and law enforcement officers who acted immediately to protect lives. There is no place in America for political violence, and every leader should be condemning it unequivocally.
