Arizonans deserve a safe, affordable place to call home. But corporate landlords & rich investors are making it impossible for us to buy an affordable home. The Pew Research Center found that corporate investors bought 1 in 3 single-family homes in AZ on the market in 2021.

For the last bill of the session Republicans will move Rep. Matt Gress’s anti-public school HCR2007 swapping it for SCR1032. No committee hearing. 3:45 am. Complete abuse of the process.

“I fear you’ve only poked the bear, because nobody works harder than educators.” — Rep. @LorenaAustin4Az stands up for organized labor and our public school teachers as Republicans move a massively anti-union ballot measure at 2 in the morning.

“Crybaby Carter” is at it again. Speaker Pro Tempore Neal Carter let his temper get the best of him after getting called out by House Democratic Leader Oscar De Los Santos. Representatives were explaining their votes before midnight on HCR2001 when the voting board closed suddenly. This action was appealed, and Leader De Los Santos was defending his members’ right to speak. The truth is hard sometimes.

BREAKING: While speaking up against a voter suppression bill, a Republican representative tried to provoke a physical altercation with me on the Arizona House Floor. I will not be silenced. I will not be intimidated. And neither will the voters.

“I will not be intimidated!” Who needs to go to Trump’s UFC fight when Republicans are getting triggered and stepping to Democratic leaders on the House floor? House Democratic Leader @RepODLS was on 🔥 speaking in opposition to a Republican motion to stop comments on anti-voter SCR2001, when GOP Rep. Neal Carter interrupted then tried a tough-guy stare down. Didn’t work.

I'm thrilled that my bipartisan, Arizona First budget has passed the legislature. It will make our state safer, stronger and more prosperous. We delivered a $1.4 billion tax cut for working Arizonans while stopping Arizona's data center tax credit for three years.

I also want to give a huge shout out to the everyday Arizonans who showed up and spoke out to fight for this. Thank you to the People First Economy Coalition — this wouldn’t have happened without you.

HISTORIC BUDGET WIN: Arizona House Democrats have stopped data centers from getting tax giveaways in the state budget for three years, the toughest moratorium in the country. Plus-- we protected 40,000 Arizonans from getting kicked off of AHCCCS, and guaranteed no cuts to SNAP. Despite Republicans' efforts to make huge cuts to essential services, Democrats fought back and WON. This isn't a perfect budget, but we're proud to have secured funding to deliver on the promise of building An Arizona We Can Afford.

“The difference is clear, Republicans fought for corporate tax breaks, Democrats fought for working families. We protected healthcare, defended affordable housing, invested in our students, expanded childcare assistance, and secured the nation’s largest pause on new data center tax giveaways.” - Senate Democratic Leader @priya4az
