This is a victory for the children and families our members @ @ridcyf serve 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! We must respect & fairly treat workers who RI’s most vulnerable children rely on for care, support & protection!
R.I. Labor Relations Board will allow video recording of hearings. In a decision addressing a ‘gray area’ of the Open Meetings Act, the board allows @SEIU580 to record hearings on unfair labor practice charges but will not allow live streaming, for now bostonglobe.com/2024/07/29/m…

The inaugural meeting of a special House commission to study the feasibility of placing solar panels on interstate highways will take place Wednesday, Sept. 13, at 4pm. It will air live on @RICapitolTV live stream at rilegislature.gov/CapTV/Page…. Speaker @JoeShekarchi has appointed @RepPhillips51, who introduced a resolution creating the commission, to serve on the commission along with @DavidMoralesRI, @RepMSDawson, and representatives from @RIDOTNews, @RhodeIslandDEM, & @EnergyRI. “There’s an awful lot of real estate running along our highways that could be used for the creation of renewable energy,” said Rep. Phillips. “This commission will assess the potential for installing those panels, and mapping this potential will help the General Assembly to make well-informed and confident decisions about renewable energy. This is especially important as new technology brings increased infrastructure demands of our roadways.” More info: rilegislature.gov/pressrelea…

I am asking all voters of the state to approve question 1 on the ballot. This will update the Narragansett campus of URI. This is going to help with the state’s Blue economy, after all, we are the Ocean State. @yeson1

Happy to be a part of two great service organizations last Saturday collecting for the community. The Rotary club and Lions of Woonsocket collecting eye glasses and clothing to help under privileged citizens. These organizations are always looking for volunteers. Call them!

I would like to thank the good people of district 51 for once again having confidence in me. I have always looked out for the best interest of the district, city, and state unlike what others are saying. Have a great week.

Good day walking today. I need to thank Valerie and Herson Gonzalez for walking with me and meeting a lot of our Spanish speaking citizens. I ask for your vote on Tuesday and remember Valerie in November. Thank you

While canvassing a neighborhood tonight, I need to thank the political coop and my opponent for the endorsement by sending out the flyer. People were so disgusted with it, some were thinking of voting for her but stated you now have my vote. Picked up 5 new sign locations.

While volunteering at Zap50, stopped by our backpack giveaway at the middle school to thank all the volunteers handing them out and other items. Woonsocket rocks when it comes to people helping people. Okay thanks all again for what you do.

Out canvassing neighborhoods every night. Tonight I talked to a gentleman who thanked me because during Covid, his granddaughter had an issue so she called me and I was able to call the correct department and take care of the issue. One of numerous calls I received during Covid.

Thank you to Helena Foulkes for attending the last Levitt Amp Woonsocket concert tonight. She met a few former coworkers and a lot of real good people. She was amazed at what Woonsocket puts on for the citizens. All for free!!! Looking forward to next years concerts.

Great day yesterday walking the district 51 neighborhood with our next Treasurer Stefan Pryor. Most people home and asked good questions for both of us. Stefan wants to come back and walk again soon. He is impressed with the people of Woonsocket.

I have not met the new Ed Commissioner yet but she is not starting off right in my eyes by hiring her sons godfather and superintendent of the states worst schools. How is he going to improve the scores when he has not in CF?

Attended one of the town hall meetings concerning Alzheimer’s. Very informative, hoping to have a full meeting in the near future at Harris Hall in Woonsocket. Such a terrible disease not only to the person but also to the family and caretakers.
