FIVE MONTHS AGO the ā€˜Blood Tribe,’ a white supremacist, neo nazi group demonstrated on the University of Wisconsin campus, brandishing rifles, carrying swastika flags, and chanting ā€œIsrael is not our friendā€ and ā€œthere will be blood, blood, blood.ā€ The protesters were all white males. Police did NOTHING. YESTERDAY unarmed, peaceful, students demonstrated at Emory University against genocide in Palestine. The protesters were mostly Black and other non-white students. Police tear-gassed, tased, brutalized, used rubber bullets, and arrested them.

The FCC just voted to restore net neutrality. If you have no idea what that means, John Oliver broke it down 10 years ago.

More here from our former Appeal colleague @JoshuaPVaughn, who has done more reporting on this issue in Pennsylvania than anyone else! x.com/SenatorMuth/status/177…

Investigative reporter @JoshuaPVaughn from @PennLive says that there are laws on the books about properly reporting the number of deaths in custody, however, they either have no enforcement mechanism or there fundamentally appears to be no desire to enforce the law #SenDemPolicy

Pepsi replaced its 32oz Gatorade bottle with a 28oz for the same price. Nabisco shrunk the family size box of Wheat Thins by 12%. General Mills shrunk the family size box of Cocoa Puffs by 6%. Frito-Lay shrunk the size of a bag of Doritos by 5%. Shrinkflation is everywhere.

Super Bowl staples like chips, dip, & soda cost more this year. Companies were forced to charge more because of inflation, right? Well, giant snack-maker PepsiCo, hiked prices by double digits for several quarters in a row and boosted its profits. Two words: Price gouging.

Wow!
WOW! Chris Wallace goes all out and criticizes his former co-worker Tucker Carlson. He says that calling Carlson a useful idiot ā€œis unfair to useful idiots". He then goes on to show a clip from when he, himself, interviewed Putin and asked him why so many people wind up dead around him. I agree that Tucker could have certainly pushed back a lot more and also asked much tougher questions. It was an opportunity that many journalists would have loved. Why do you think he didn't?

Great news air-breathers: the Biden Administration finalized new limits on soot pollution that will save live and let kids with asthma breath easier. Like @SenatorHaywood and @RepRabb, I'm thrilled about the news. Hear what others think: environmentamerica.org/penns…

Maybe you thought US learned its lesson about ramming highways thru cities. Maybe you thought we were starting to get serious about climate change. Then you haven’t looked at PennDot’s study for rebuilding I-95 in Philly. I did & here’s my column: bit.ly/47KwHHH

Give ā€˜em hell, Congresswoman!
I was just kicked out of a House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee hearing on Cuba policy because the Republican Chair didn’t like my views. I’d share the livestream, but Republicans cut out the sound when I stood up to defend myself & call them out.

PA is #4 on this list borne of #structuralinequality. Remaining on this infamous list is both a policy choice & a political choice. Neither is acceptable. The best & fastest way to dissolve this list? Make our richest citizens pay their fair share! #FairShareTaxPlan

My #fairsharetaxplan bill would increase PA #tax revenues by over $6 billion per year by simply making the rich pay their fair share — while 85% of #taxpayers would pay no more in #taxes or even LESS than what they’ve paid in prior years. #taxpolicy
Massachusetts taxed the rich. Now they have an extra $1.5 billion to spend. In November, 2022 voters approved a 4% tax on incomes over $1 million. The state can now use that money on free public school meals, free community college, and public transit. wbur.org/news/2023/12/28/mas…
