Our local firefighters stand between us and disaster, even as budget cuts strain their resources to the max. I was proud to help pass legislation that would help departments with funding for new vehicles, station upgrades, and other major expenses.

Homeowners who sign shared equity agreements to get cash in return for their equity are learning the hard way that they must pay off the company, which owns any appreciation on the home, before they can sell it. Today, we passed a bill to better protect consumers in these cases.

PUC will hold public hearings from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm this Wednesday, June 3, on a proposed gas rate increase. Both will be held at Ross Township Municipal Building, 1000 Ross Municipal Drive, Pittsburgh. There will also be telephonic hearings next week: puc.pa.gov/press-release/202…
