Glad to be out on Pothole Patrol with @GovEvers in Stevens Point yesterday! I enjoyed hearing from our Public Works Department about everything that goes into repairing our roads and seeing them and the governor in action. Please join me in thanking them for their hard work!

Packed house tonight for @RepShankland & Sen. @keldahelenroys at the Muscoda Village Hall in northern Grant County for a true public forum on the @UWSystem closing campuses like @UWRichland. Listening to the public on public universities & offering solutions. It’s a novel idea I wish more legislators & state leaders would follow.

The lack of urgency & attention to the serious issue of PFAS contamination from these legislators speaks volumes. As someone who actively tried to improve the bill & work with them, I’m disappointed with their lack of interest in releasing these vital funds. Instead we see this:

We deserve clean water & health care access. GOP legislators continue to hold up this $ - and didn’t bother to show up for work. If they disagree with funding clean water & healthcare, they should say so instead of dodging their duties. Playing politics over our health is wrong!

BREAKING: Republican lawmakers were a no-show today for the special meeting I called to release $140 million to fight PFAS statewide and stabilize healthcare access in Western Wisconsin after recent hospital closures.

Ask DNR when they’ve utilized the spills law for PFAS. I’ve asked my colleagues to name an example of when it’s been misused, and I haven’t heard an answer yet. The spills law is the best tool in the toolbox to immediately get clean drinking water to communities impacted by PFAS.

This law has been working for decades. Why the need to dismantle it for PFAS as more communities face the cost of contamination? This is a false choice. The Legislature should immediately get money out the door for communities across WI - and we can keep our clean water laws too.

Three years ago, rioters stormed the Capitol & 147 GOP lawmakers voted to overturn the 2020 election results. It was a harrowing day for our country & must never happen again. We must work relentlessly to defend our democracy, safeguard our elections, & protect our right to vote.

I’m thrilled that the WI Supreme Court ruled that our state legislative maps are unconstitutional! The ruling also ordered new state legislative maps for the 2024 elections. This is amazing news for our democracy and voters! Fair maps empower us all to own and shape our futures.
