One bill won’t end fraud… but our own Government Accountability Office estimates that your federal government loses hundreds of billions of dollars to fraud each year. The House passed the Stopping Fraudulent Payments Act this week to improve oversight — and make it harder for fraudsters to game the system.  This is an important step forward! Taxpayer dollars should go where they’re intended!

Hoosier truckers keep America moving. I met with the Indiana Motor Truck Association today to talk about cracking down on the staged accident fraud and runaway lawsuits that drive up costs for carriers, drivers, and small businesses. President Gary Langston, who started his career behind the wheel before spending decades in the industry, walked me through a lot of the issues they’re facing. When trucking costs go up, Hoosiers feel it. We're working to lower those costs. #IN06

This week on the House floor, I remembered Brett Scrogham of Greenwood. Brett was 23 years old — and just beginning his career when his life was taken in downtown Indy. These scammers steal life savings — then brag about it online. That’s why I introduced the Dismantle Foreign Scam Syndicates Act. It creates a federal task force that puts the FBI, Treasury, and State Department on the same team to shut these operations down and recover what was stolen. Good to see accountability. The work continues.

Met with @IvyTechCC leaders from their Richmond and Columbus campuses to talk workforce training, Pell Grants, and how we help more Hoosiers build the skills they need for good-paying jobs. Ivy Tech plays a big role in preparing Hoosier students for careers in health care, advanced manufacturing, skilled trades, and more. A strong workforce doesn’t just happen. It starts with practical training and a clear path to work.

Early Thursday morning, after working late into the night, @HouseAppropsGOP advanced the Homeland Security Appropriations bill out of committee. As a member of the Homeland Security Appropriations Subcommittee, I helped move this bill forward to provide Border Patrol and homeland security personnel with the resources they need to secure the border and keep Americans safe. A safer border means a safer Indiana.

Most of Washington’s work doesn’t happen in front of the cameras. Late tonight, @HouseAppropsGOP passed the Labor, Health and Human Services Appropriations bill out of committee. This bill touches everyday life for Hoosier families — health care, medical research, workforce programs, and services people rely on in their communities. My focus: fund what works, cut waste where we find it, and make sure federal agencies answer for how they spend taxpayer dollars. Indiana has a voice on Appropriations, and I’m using it for #IN06.

Hour eight of the Labor, Health and Human Services Appropriations bill markup on @HouseAppropsGOP. This is where the work gets done. Line by line. Dollar by dollar. Making sure Hoosier priorities are reflected in how taxpayer dollars are spent. Alzheimer’s research. Cancer treatment. Workforce development. Responsible stewardship of your tax dollars. It’s a long day — but an important one.

This bill: ✅ Gives Border Patrol agents the tools they need ✅ Strengthens ICE enforcement and removal operations targeting unlawful aliens with criminal records ✅ Invests in border technology and fentanyl interdiction A secure border is not a luxury. It’s a basic responsibility of government.

General aviation supports local jobs, manufacturing, emergency response, business travel, and airports across #IN06. On the @TransportGOP Aviation Subcommittee, I’m focused on modernizing our skies, strengthening air traffic control, and keeping America’s aviation system safe, reliable, and ready for the future.

American families are the most precious cargo on our roads, and keeping them safe should be our top priority.
