Representing North Carolina's 14th Congressional District 🇺🇸| Longest-serving Speaker of the North Carolina House | Member of @FinancialCmte & @housebudgetGOP
The reckless magistrate judges in Charlotte are exactly why I introduced the Judicial Accountability for Public Safety Act.
Really simple: judges should be liable for negligently releasing a repeat offender who goes on to commit a serious violent crime.
Just so everyone understands what just happened in Charlotte NC:
>woman rams cop with car
>gets $3k bond
>leaves jail
>gets indicted for Assault With Deadly Weapon
>still no jail
>same woman rams 2nd man with car 3 weeks later
>gets $10k bond
>leaves jail
>currently walking free

My TRUST Act passed the House unanimously today to relieve an unnecessary regulatory burden on community banks.
It's really simple: small town banks shouldn't be regulated like Wall Street giants.
