It was an honor to participate in the Trinidad Elks Flag Day Ceremony. The Elks have a deep and proud history of honoring our nation’s flag and were the first fraternal organization to formally observe Flag Day.🇺🇸

I’m honored to be named one of Mental Health Colorado’s 2026 Legislators of the Year for our work on SB26-060, Alyssa’s Law. This bill helps coaches, athletes, and parents better understand the connection between concussions and mental health so families can recognize warning signs early. Thank you to Alyssa’s family, Montee Ball, and Mental Health Colorado for their advocacy and commitment to protecting young athletes. #TyHD47

I attended the Colorado Produced Water Consortium meeting in Trinidad to discuss the potential of produced water in the Raton Basin. With ongoing drought, pressure on our water resources, and agricultural water being transferred to urban areas, we need commonsense exemptions that allow clean produced water to be used for ranching, farming, wildlife, and fire mitigation. #TyHD47 #AgMatters #WaterMatters

🍀I recently spoke with the Hoehne 4-H Club about the importance of 4-H and FFA, and the vital role agriculture plays in our communities. We discussed how the next generation can help advance and protect our industry for years to come. It’s always great to spend time with young people who are passionate about the future of agriculture. #HD47 #4H #FFA

Last night I had the privilege of being the Keynote Speaker at the 3rd Annual Prowers County Sheriff’s Office Youth Academy Banquet. This five-day program for ages 15–20 offers hands-on training in crime scene investigations, CPR/First Aid, emergency response, and more, building trust and inspiring future leaders in public safety and healthcare. Grateful for partners like Lamar Community College, Frontier Bank, Prowers Medical Center, and others providing college credits and scholarships! Congratulations to the graduates! Proud to celebrate you! #TyHD47

Today, I toured Bent's Old Fort National Historic Site in Otero County with the La Junta Chamber of Commerce and elected officials. We had productive discussions on needed repairs, preservation, and strengthening its economic impact on the La Junta area. Investing in this important Southeast Colorado historic site preserves our heritage while supporting local communities and tourism. #TyHD47

Today, I had the honor of speaking at our Annual Memorial Day Commemoration. Memorial Day isn't about cookouts or a long weekend. It's about the Americans who gave their lives so the rest of us can live free. Today asks something more of us. It asks us to stop, reflect, and remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for this country.

Today, we took time to honor the brave Americans who served and sacrificed for our country by placing flags at the graves of our veterans. It's a powerful reminder that the freedoms we enjoy each day were defended by men and women willing to give so much for this nation. May we always remember their service, sacrifice, and legacy. 🇺🇸

Colorado deserves leaders who stay focused on Colorado values and Colorado families. This session, we fought to protect affordability, defend TABOR, support small businesses, stand up for agriculture, and keep our part of Colorado strong. While some were focused on national political fights, we stayed focused on the people back home trying to afford groceries, keep the lights on, grow their businesses, and provide for their families. From one corner of HD-47 to the other, I'll keep fighting for the agricultural producers, businesses, and hardworking families that keep Colorado moving forward.

House and Senate Republicans Release Statement Regarding Arrest of Hunter Rivera
House and Senate Republicans Release Statement Regarding Arrest of Hunter Rivera (Denver, CO – May 15, 2026) – Today, the House and Senate Republicans released the following statement regarding the arrest of Hunter Rivera: These charges are sickening, horrifying, and beyond reprehensible. There is no defense for anyone who preys on children, no excuses, and no place for that anywhere near public life or our party. We are calling on him as the Weld County Chair to resign immediately. There is no room in our party for these types of charges. We stand unequivocally with victims, with families, and with every law enforcement officer working to protect children from predators like this. These are the people we fight for every single day, and crimes against children deserve the strongest possible condemnation and accountability. We are grateful to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office and investigators for their work to protect children and bring predators to justice.

Before leaving the Capitol today, I had the chance to meet with the students, teachers, parents, and staff from Alta Vista Charter School who made the drive from Lamar for a field trip. It was great seeing the excitement on the children’s faces as they toured the People’s House.

Today marks the end of the 2026 legislative session. While there’s still a lot of work ahead to address Colorado’s structural deficit and the everyday challenges families across our state are facing, I’m proud of the work we accomplished fighting for the people of House District 47. This session, we fought for agriculture, advanced commonsense health care legislation, worked to get violent criminals off our streets, stood up for rural Colorado, and pushed back against policies hurting hardworking families and small businesses. Serving the people of southeastern Colorado is truly the honor of a lifetime, and I’ll keep fighting every day for our communities and the values that make our part of the state strong.
