Cody Campbell and AG Paxton: "We'll sue ya'll MF'ers if ya do it!" Texas Law: It's not the business of State courts to substitute judgement for the decisions of private associations like the Big 12, unless the association fails to follow it's own bylaws. At present, only Texas Tech is failing to follow the bylaws of the conference.
Under Texas law, courts defer to the internal affairs and rules of private associations and will not substitute the court’s judgment for the association's decision (such as membership revocation, rule-making, or expulsion) unless the association failed to follow its own bylaws or acted in bad faith. So how does Texas Tech get around that? ā¬‡ļø

- They shouldn't have done this - 'We love the young man, so here's 20 minutes of information for every NFL team to use against him one day' - "We asked the NCAA to change their policy because more kids gamble now" Shouldn't the policies get MORE strict since that's the case? - Theoretically - 'Hey coach I'm addicted to steroids. I took a ton of them, but since it's a medical condition, me breaking the rules shouldn't be a big deal right?' - How much did they pay a quarterback who is addicted to high-risk, low-probability decisions and struggling with anxiety? Did they not know this when they vetted him? If no, why don't they vet character better. If yes, in what universe would those traits describe a highly-paid QB1 in big-time college football?

Texas Tech fans: ā€œIndiana and Cincinnati should be punished because they knew Sorsby was gambling but still let him play (we didn’t)ā€ Also Texas Tech fans: ā€œwe know Sorsby is gambling. Why won’t you let us play him???ā€ Their double standard is hilarious šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

So let me get this straight. The corrupt, impeached and criminally-indicted Texas Attorney General is vouching for the integrity of the Texas Tech football program. Maybe they should find a better character witness.
The Texas Attorney General sent a formal letter to the Big 12 today alerting the conference that Texas Tech would take action against any league sanction.

You know what @CodyC64, when you’re right, you’re right. Let’s make this fair. No boycotts of games. Just a $60mil fine, 4yr post season ban, and you fire and blackball your coach from the sport forever and burn his entire (albeit non-existent) legacy to the ground. Fair?
Cody Campbell pushes back on the growing conversation around boycotting Texas Tech.

The machine HATES non traditional programs. That’s true. I’ve really admired what Texas Tech has been able to accomplish in the NIL era as a non traditional power. And Cody Campbell has been a guy I’ve liked pushing the boundaries and trying to wrangle the landscape. But…. The Sorsby stuff is too far. It sucks to have landed a player TT had no idea was radioactive. And if he doesn’t play it probably craters a season and a team that otherwise is the clear favorite to win the Big 12. You just can’t do it. You can’t gamble on the team or sport. Sorsby knew it. He knows it. He worked to conceal it. Painting Sorbsy as some sort of victim is just a response to the downfall of what 2026 is going to look like AND simultaneously calls into question the judgement of people that, until now, have been on the cutting edge. I hate it for Texas Tech. But you can not play Sorsby. Lawsuits & justifying his past with other bad behaviors? It is just landing wrong. Sorsby is the recruiting win you wished you’d lost
"Because they're desperate. They're desperate to be relevant on the national level." -@BruceFeldmanCFB tells @finebaum why he thinks Texas Tech has gone all in on Brendan Sorsby despite the PR disaster.

Finally a Penn State fan that puts forth a rationalized eval of James Franklin. Even better was the willingness to look inward at the Penn State fanbase and administration. Expecting wins over Michigan and Ohio State when you fund a program significantly less is not reality.
Replying to @hail2snerd
Ok. He didn’t save Penn State football. Except yes. He did. Both he and O’Brien did in different ways. O’Brien’s job was to steady the ship and not let it go under. I’m thankful for that. I’m more thankful for Zordich and Mauti who had more to do with that than O’Brien did. That being said. It’s hilarious that people like you re-write history. You realize the worst of the sanction effects were going to be in year 3 correct? When we were supposed to drop down to 65 scholarships. It’s one of the main reasons O’Brien got out of here when we did. While dealing with the worst of the sanctions Franklin (even in last year because of when he got fired) …. NEVER HAD A LOSING SEASON. He’s an egomaniac. You’re correct. He is. So are most coaches. In every sport. You new here? Every one wants to make sure they’re viewed publicly in the best light. That’s not a negative no matter how much you try to make it one. He was supposed to embrace ā€œsmash mouth PSU football.ā€ Penn State hasn’t won a title in 39.5 years. No team outside of a Michigan team that cheated to get there has won that way in the last two decades. But go ahead cling to the past since that’s all you got. Also literally every coach will run a program and team their way. That’s what got them the job to begin with. He pissed off donors. You’re right. There’s two reasons some donors didn’t like him. One is pretty obvious. I’ll let you guess that reasons. He argued and chastised fans. He’s a better man than me. This fan base is entitled and pathetic (just look at your post). And we as a fan base should be better but we’re no better than anyone. The amount of vile shit he dealt with on a non-coaching level was despicable from a fanbase who prides themselves on ā€œsuccess with honor.ā€ I wouldn’t have thanked the jackasses in this fanbase and I’m fine with him not doing it. Player misuse. It’s hilarious that people complain about how his used NIL. We had the highest rate of non-turnover in the country. Teams who just paid out bags to players had the most transfers. Franklin had the least. His loyalty was good and bad. It both lacked us getting the best players out there yet allowed us to retain the talent he recruited. I’m not even fully disagreeing with you on this one shockingly but it goes both ways. He failed at developing WR (he’s not the WR coach) and massively failed Allar (every starting QB under Franklin has made the NFL). You don’t understand why he was recruited? Because some of y’all only see 5-star fill in the blank. You need those types of players to be successful. Franklin’s classes landed in the teens …. Umm the majority of top classes are a) in the SEC b) teams who pay out ridiculous money and c) teams who recruit nationally. We’re none of the three. But do me a favor. Check out the all time highest ranked recruits at Penn State. Now look at how many came 2014 and later. Go ahead I’ll wait. James got told no a lot. You really must be new to this college football thing. EVERY coach is told no a lot. Kirby Smart gets told no a lot. Nick Saban got told no a lot. NO COACH GETS EVERY RECRUIT HE WANTS. James Franklin was a failure at Penn State? Lmao you do realize that our record under Franklin vs a better Ohio State and Michigan were similar to Paterno’s numbers against Michigan and Ohio State? Penn State won almost 70% of their games under Franklin. Players didn’t get into trouble. Won a conference title and numerous bowl games. You know for someone who talked about the history of Penn State it’s kind of comical that Franklin was the most Paterno like coach we pretty much had and complained how he’s the worst ever. Can’t take people like you seriously.

Just look at the difference in quality of the desk shows for the SEC and ACC tournaments. There’s some bias all around.

If you could go back and change the outcome of one single play in your program’s history, which one is it... and how does CFB history change because of it?

Way to go @HokiesBaseball Give up 8 additional runs because you couldn't turn a basic double play. Should be 6-1. Instead 14-1. Woof.

@Hokiesbaseball Game is so out of hand announcers have spent about a half hour breaking down the milkshake options from the concession stand.
