The US doesn’t need to declare a national holiday if we beat England. We already have a national holiday for beating England.

"This is a pretty solid roster." @ReportYank is looking forward to seeing what the latest USMNT roster can do at the Nations League. 🇺🇸

USMNT just decided to play at 100 mph and Oman can't keep up. Incredible stuff.

I know there's mixed opinions on this, but I absolutely love Ray Hudson.
"[GARBLED NOISES]...THE MADNESS OF MESSI ARRIVES! ASTONISHING PASS. HE DOESN'T PULL PASSES, OR RABBITS OUT OF HIS MAGIC HAT, HE PULLS KANGAROOS, TO SINK HIS FAMOUS FIRE INTO THE HEARTS OF THE FLYING GARYS!" - Ray Hudson

Pepi will get his looks for PSV this season. No doubt about that, but with Sargent starting the season hot and Balo being Balo, you have to wonder about the USMNT Striker pecking order for September Friendlies.

The strongest interest for Folarin Balogun until now has been from AS Monaco, and they remain interested - I expect new bid for Balogun soon. Let’s see if English clubs will try too, but at the moment it’s just about being informed rather than any concrete negotiations. With Chelsea, the links come because Balogun shares an agent with Romeo Lavia, but I’m not aware of direct contacts between Chelsea and Arsenal, no bids, it’s just normal contacts between agents, not a proper negotiation. I was listening to a golf podcast recently featuring two guys from Manchester. They started discussing soccer and whether they would follow ManU this season. One guy said the season was basically over, City had already won.

Through League's Cup, MLS managed to turn the most boring part of their calendar into must-see matches. Gotta tip the cap to that.

Messi doesn't just pass you the ball. He passes you the ball with a stamped return envelope. He's turning random dudes from Miami into Cesc Fabregas. It's unbelievable to watch.

The expectation for any athlete to put a club over themselves is such a wild, yet somehow common perspective.

Nice to see the Leeds fans taking the news of Tyler’s potential departure well. “We don’t want you” You also don’t want to stay in the Championship judging by your recent performances.

🧵 If MLS continues gaining on the rest of the world, I do wonder how the market place of ideas plays out. If all things are equal, would a player prefer to be in an environment where they will get yelled at in the grocery store?

People tend to want to live and work in their own countries, so it will be difficult for MLS to really attract Europeans, but for the South Americans and Africans, I think USA's cultural diversity gives MLS a leg up in QoL.

I do wonder if some of these often criticized aspects of MLS will actually make the league more attractive to players as the pay gap closes on the Big 5 leagues in Europe.
