Yesterday's inflation report means Euro summer is canceled for some Americans looking to manage their travel budgets. Instead, there has been a boost in domestic travel. Here are a few U.S. destinations trending this summer: marketwatch.com/story/rip-eu…
The May inflation report reflects the crazy start to the summer travel season that we've been tracking at @MarketWatch. The cost of airfare grew 6.9% — just between April and May — and it's up a whopping 26.7% year-over-year.

And ICYMI earlier today: People are using buy-now-pay-later services to buy gas and groceries. @CashApp cardholders used @AfterpayUSA nearly 3.6 times for gas purchases and 2.2 times for groceries on average between February and May. marketwatch.com/story/americ…

Are businesses really hiring again? The April jobs report will help clue us in. Been hard for people out of work to find a job. It still is. Not because robots are taking our jobs, either. Tariffs, shutdowns, Iran, gas prices ... marketwatch.com/story/are-bu… via @MarketWatch

It's weird to think the economy doesn't need to create many new jobs anymore to keep the U.S. unemployment rate low. Very weird. Don't expect a hiring surge to show up in the March employment report. marketwatch.com/story/the-u-… via @MarketWatch

The number of unemployed people who receive jobless benefits just fell to a 17-month low. Great news, right? Yes and no. Layoffs and unemployment are low, but if you can't find a job, benefits eventually run out. marketwatch.com/story/the-nu… via @MarketWatch

fantastic work by @GennaContino, who noticed that MrBeast's finance app is backed by a bank with a troubled history. As one consumer advocate said, “One of the last places in the world I would want my teen to put money is an app associated with Evolve."
I just published a story about MrBeast's new finance app that doesn't have an age minimum — and the bank behind it has a troubled history. Here's how I found it 🧵 marketwatch.com/story/mrbeas…
