Time to move on. We eventually stopped using halothane because we got better drugs. Neo still works ok if you use it right, but so does halothane, Pentothal, etc etc. We have a better drug now.

In a multicenter matched cohort analysis, sugammadex administration was associated with a 30% reduced risk of pulmonary complications, a 47% reduced risk of pneumonia, and a 55% reduced risk of respiratory failure compared to neostigmine. ow.ly/ocec50KbQb3

Tragic preventable.
Based on pic (yes, limited): no obvs predictors of difficult BMV, ETT, LMA or FONA. Monitoring, airway skills…All seems easy until there’s apnea and you don’t know what you’re doing. “Sedation” can become “GAWA” real quick. Tragic failure of BLS.

Highly recommend this doc. We were lucky to have @drharry64 talk @DalAnesthesia about this rescue. Its still unfathomable to me that all the boys survived. Just a ridiculous demonstration of courage and skill.
Also makes anes oral exam questions seem straight forward!!
