Fantastic, thought provoking talk by Dr Matt Walton on rescuer wellbeing. Great to hear there will be a rescuer wellbeing coming to our teams via RCUK in the new year. It's time we learnt some fundamental lessons about the emotional costs of caring careers.

Having a mindful moment on a strangely emotional day and it occurs to me that today it is 17 years since I qualified and started my first registered nurse post on Ward 2 @SFHFT. I've seen lots change but my pride and passion for the people here burns bright as ever.

Tomorrow is my last day as a full time NHS Consultant. Need to free up time to work in the area of oceanic and human health. No idea what I can achieve but I must give it my best shot as I believe healthy oceans are the key to humanities future 🌍🌊. @oceansandus @DrNickWatts

"Hey what’s this funny donut 🍩 stuck on the crash cart?" It's a 🧲 magnet! We keep it there because it can be life-saving if applied over a pacemaker or ICD. A 🧡about magnets, pacemakers & ICDs. Some useful facts that everyone in an ICU ought to know. #FOAMcc #FOAMed 1/

Mini E-ALS course today for some of our incoming FY2s and other staff. Fantastic team work even this early in the day. Some great #humanfactors conversations going on. Good luck all.
The SFH resus ribena berries have been busy this afternoon shooting our new blockbuster BLS demo. Coming soon to an induction or mandatory update near you @SFHFT. If any of our SFH colleagues are feeling brave and want to star with us next year, please let us know.

A 🧡 on burnout Yesterday I learned that when people are burnt out, their amygdala enlarges. For all you non-neuroscientists, here's what that means and why it's important. 1/ #AcademicChatter @AcademicChatter @CouragePhD

New uniforms have arrived. Purple so we are easy to identify at an emergency, no band identifiers to signify we are all one team. Nice to have a #teamResus brand here at SFH. Team photo to follow soon.

Resus colleagues, do any of your trusts have clinical decision hubs on community hospital sites (doing endoscopy, contrast scans etc.)? If so would you be happy to have conversation about the subject and how you overcame challenges? Thanks in advance.
