James' opponent in James 2 argues that he will show his faith by his works. It's interesting that it is the adversary in James 2 who claims that his faith is demonstrated and revealed by his works.

For an offer to be genuine and honest, the person receiving the offer must have the freedom and ability to accept or reject the offer. If the small print or unspoken conditions prevent the individual from receiving or rejecting, the offer is a scam or deception.

God knowing if you would believe is not the same as God deciding to give or withhold faith from you.

This is fantastic. You need more than Hypothetical Universalism for the Gospel to be a well meant offer, but that is the start. The person also needs the freedom and ability to receive or reject the offer.
What a classic

Isaiah 5 doesn't make sense if Total Depravity or Unconditional Election is true. God looks for righteousness as an expectant farmer looks for a produce from a well managed field.

The Gospel offer is illogical and deceptive if unconditional election is true.

How can you read church history and walk away with the conclusion that the Roman bishop and his church are infallible?
The Bible is Infallible. However, the Bible is not the only Infallibile authority in Christianity. The Church is also an Infallibile authority in Christianity. As a matter of fact, Jesus Christ gave authority to the Church to forgive and retain sins, to bind and to lose, to make disciples of all nations and to even solve individual problems. Christ Himself told us:If you can’t settle a conflict between yourselves, take it to the church (Matthew 18:15-17). He didn’t say "go open your Bible in private and find a verse to weaponize." He pointed us to the gathered body of believers; accountable, relational, Spirit-led community. St. Paul called the church the Pillar and Bulwark of the Truth. (Timothy 3:15) All these also imply that the best place you'll get the best explanation on the Bible is the Church. Your personal interpretation can be fine, but not perfect While Protestants may have their own opinion, you cannot change the truth. The Catholic Church agrees that the Bible is an Infallibile authority. However, the also Church affirms strongly that the Church is also an Infallibile authority.

The most anti-Christ doctrines are 1. Denial of the Bodily Resurrection 2. Limiting Jesus to a good teacher 3. Claiming He received His power through the devil The most anti-Christ doctrines are those that attack Christ.
The 3 most anti-Christ doctrines in existence today. 1. Free-grace 2. Once Saved Always Saved 3. The 7th day Sabbath was "Replaced" All unbiblical. All promote sin. All goes against righteousness.

The New Testament is filled with examples that Christians can act like non-christians. They can believe terrible things and do terrible things. This is why discipleship is so important.

Faith without works is dead. It's still faith because it is faith. It is just faith that doesn't have works accompanying it. It is also dead and ineffective to save. But it's faith. But what does it mean to be dead? What doesn't it save from?

Even with the Cherubim and images in the Temple, the Israelites/Judeans were always to pray directly to God. We have no account of them praying to the Cherubim to take their prayers to the Lord. We don't pray to the others in heaven. We only pray to the one on the throne.

God's Rest in Hebrews 3-4 comes when we walk with Christ in fellowship and service. This rest cannot come when we are separated from His body, the church.

The book of James is written to Christians whose faith is tested by many trials. It is not written to those who have no faith and need to believe in Christ. This leads me to believe that dead faith describes the lifestyle of believers who are inactive in caring for others.

Romans 9 is about how Israel's election as a nation doesn't result in salvation for the individuals of that nation.
Romans 9 has nothing to do with the election of individuals to salvation it has to with the election of the nation of Israel.

Every single time we sin, in that moment, our faith is dead. Our faith is only living when we are active in obedience. Christians have living faith some days and dead faith other days.

I hate reading the end of David's life. While David was blessed to be forgiven for his sin against Uriah, his life was absolutely miserable from that point on. Sin ruins lives, even those who are living under forgiveness.

If you read Pelagius, this is the most ridiculous and foolish of claims.
Everyone's a palagian until they're born again. "Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the heart" (Proverbs 21:12).

This parable is a great test to determine if the Reformed interpreter is being honest with the Scriptures.
“MANY ARE CALLED, FEW ARE ELECT” -Jesus Who are “the called” in that parable? Everyone Who are “the elect” in that parable? Those who came in response to the King’s call clothed in the right wedding garments (Christ) If the king is somehow secretly controlling how those who are called respond to his calling, this parable makes absolutely no rational sense. Jesus makes sense.
