So psyched that our amazing zine team are putting on @ExploreWellcome’s first ever zine fair! Hope you can swing by on Saturday 2 December 🧡 There’s zine making & zine chats happening too. All info/list of tablers is here: wellcomecollection.org/event… [art by boestudio.s on Insta]

At the top of the poster are 3 people in colourful clothing (the whole poster uses a pink, peach, orange and beige palette) walking towards the right side of the page and holding up a huge concertina/folded piece of paper above their heads. The paper reads: Wellcome Zine Takeover. Underneath the people are 6 colourful boxes with information about the Zine Takeover day with titles for each event, times, locations and a notice about all events being free drop in. The Zine Takeover is a full day of zine activity, from a zine fair to a zine making workshop and 2 talks about zines. There will also be chill out rooms available. Before this photograph, nobody had ever seen a picture of Stonehenge from above. The photo, taken by 2nd Lt Philip Henry Sharpe in 1906 from a tethered balloon, is the earliest known aerial photograph of any archaeological monument in Britain.

Nine year old Hannah Oakes stitched this sampler in 1834. Her charming, symmetrical sampler includes charming depictions of flowers, as well as a shepherd couple and pair of sheep in front of a brick house. Hannah may have been from Sheffield, the child of Mary Oakes.
