A customer forgets their discount code, emails you, and waits. The usual fix is a partial refund. Merchants in the Shopify forums have documented the fallout for years: tax reports that overstate the sale, refund metrics that look worse than they are. All of that for a code the customer had the whole time. The cleaner route is letting them apply the code to the order they already placed, from the order page, before fulfillment. The discount lands on the order itself, where it belongs.

Your B2B buyers email you for the same thing every week: a proper tax invoice. Right tax ID. Right billing details. A clean PDF they can hand to their finance team. Most stores still make each one by hand, one email at a time. Let the customer add their tax ID and download the invoice themselves, from the order page. Their accountant is happy. Your inbox is empty.

Shopify Scripts dies June 30. That's 22 days. If your store still runs Scripts for discounts or shipping logic, they stop working when the switch flips. You already can't edit or publish them since April 15. Migrate to Functions or a public app now, not on June 29.

Order mistakes don't keep business hours. The wrong size happens Friday night. The accidental double order happens Saturday morning. The inbox that can fix them opens Monday. Thats two days of a customer hoping somebody sees their email before the box ships. Weekend mistakes deserve a weekend fix.

A customer mistypes one letter in shipping address at checkout that one letter becomes "where is my order" ticket, a failed delivery, a reship, & a refund request. let them fix it themselves before it ships, & all of that just disappears. cheapest return you will ever prevent.
