I’m almost glad we don’t beat Man U too often. They’re still whinging about refereeing decisions and ignoring the awful selection choices and windyness (sp?) of their superstar players when confronted with a real team effort in the first half. Could have been 4-0 down at HT.

Elements of truth to this but loses some credibility coming from a player whose team had all the elements but bottled it on numerous occasions which was the original definition of Spursy I think. Kildare have lesser, younger players than Mayo had. rte.ie/sport/football/2026/0…

It looks like @KildareGAA will be playing @CLGLaois at home in the Leinster championship for the first time in 42 years next week. The last meeting in Conleth's in provincial fare was in 1984 when the O'Moore's won 1-10 to 0-7. Larry Tompkins with 0-4 for Kildare.

Prior to that 1984 game the last home championship game against Laois was in 1943 in Athy, also a Laois win. Kildare won the four home meetings prior to that, 3 in Athy and 1 in Newbridge. In two of those years, 1919 and 1928, Kildare went on to win the All-Ireland.
