Actions speak louder than words. This means so much more than we think. It means that what your athletes experience from you is more reflected in what you do than what you say. Be bigger than just your words.

Greatness is less about an event or outcome, and more about a process. And the process is often boring. It's a commitment to being brilliant in the basics, to showing up every day to get a little bit better, to being accountable to the standard.

Convenience is about showing up when you feel like it, when you’re told to, when you’re motivated to. Commitment is about showing up when you don’t feel like it, when it isn’t convenient, because you care, because it’s who you are. Do the work.

Self-efficacy.
Why You Should Do Hard Things: 1. Hard things test your limits. 2. Hard things build resilience. 3.Hard things teach you discipline. The path of least resistance leads nowhere. The road that challenges you is the one that changes you.

Excellence is rare in almost every profession. Hold onto it when you find it, And refer them to everyone you know.

Fear will tell you not to take the shot, then turn around and shame you for not taking the shot. Fear fights dirty. Learn to fight back.
There is a penalty for being afraid no one talks about..... Fear suppresses talent, sure.... but it also suppresses chances. You will take less shots on goal & make yourself less likely to have the life you want. Don't let an emotion keep you from a great life.

“Comparison is the thief of joy. Thats how you get in trouble, you know saying someone’s better than this player, not better than that player,” Kara Lawson Comparison measures people. Standards measure progress. If you focus on others, you lose sight of your identity.

Teams that perform well under pressure are teams who don’t see it as pressure. They see it as opportunity. Perspective is a superpower.

Who you are under pressure is who you are. Build your mindset, your character, your habits and your leadership accordingly.

Most coaches obsess over delivering feedback. Elite coaches obsess over how it's received.

"A winning program will produce winning teams. In order to have a winning program, you have to have a winning culture. You have to own it.   And understand, you don't have to do this. But, you don't have to win." - Coach K
