The RIDE2RAIL project made strides in enhancing intelligent mobility solutions. Their goal? To promote the combination of ride-sharing and public transport, especially in rural and low-demand areas. 🚗🚌 🚄 Their recent publication reveals: 1️⃣ RIDE2RAIL developed a new framework that facilitates efficient connections between flexible and scheduled transport services, improving overall mobility. 🔄 2️⃣ They created and tested the Travel Companion and Driver Companion apps, allowing users to plan, book, and execute trips seamlessly. 📲 3️⃣ They identified barriers to ride-sharing adoption, including poor awareness of services, lack of trust, and low flexibility in scheduling. 🚧 Moreover, RIDE2RAIL introduced a recommendation algorithm that learns user preferences over time, offering more personalized travel solutions. 🎯 This work is a significant step towards improving accessibility and efficiency in public transport, especially in areas where these services are limited.
