Google Photos makes me so sad. It was such a good product when it came out. Now every time I use the product I feel like it lost the plot on what the critical user journeys it was supposed to support. I don’t want stickers. I don’t want creative re-editing of my photos.

Tried saving. Nowhere in Google Photos. Tried downloading. Nowhere in Apple Photos. I ended up creating a new album with the shared photo. Now it tells me the “album is syncing”. Like WTF

Try rotating a photo uploaded by a friend to a shared album on iOS. It’s been 10 minutes and I still haven’t figured it out.

I just realized package delivery on-time and undamaged is so reliable here in Japan that delivery insurance is almost unheard of. I just shipped a TV and had zero concerns it would arrive undamaged.

Are there any AI models that are actually good at accurate geospatial rendering? Like map visualizations. Neither Gemini nor ChatGPT works well in this regard.
