Family is a big part of who we are at Riverside...fans, racers, and those who help us put the shows on. This past Saturday we welcomed Patty Lawrence to the booth, announcing for the first time. He is the youngest son of the "voice of Riverside" Jerry 'Jer Bear' Lawrence the tracks original and longtime announcer. Patty even wore his dad's shirt, and was awesome - a chip off the ole block! Shoutout to Noel Fougere for his help in the booth Saturday as well. Patty and he were a good team!

57 years ago, at 2 p.m. on May 18, 1969, the green flag waved for the first time to open Riverside Speedway. A 1/3-mile scale model of the original Bristol Speedway (TN), the track was built and operated by the late John 'Nova' Chisholm, also a racer - and father of our current owner, Donald Chisholm.
