One year after falling a game short of the #LLWS, Lake Mary had one goal this year: get to Williamsport. They more than reached that goal. The Florida champions emerged victorious from a critical state tournament test versus #4 Boca Raton, and later defeated #9 Goodlettsville twice to reach Central Pennsylvania. Lake Mary defeated 6 ranked teams at the #LLWS, were the only team to defeat Boerne this summer, and are set for a date with Chinese Taipei on Sunday in the #LLWS championship game! Congratulations to the U.S. champions!

LLB Top 50 #1: Lake Mary Little League Lake Mary, Florida (19-1 Sunday's game) #LLWS

It was clear from the start of the tournament that Boerne had a special team this year: Boerne defeated each of its ten opponents en route to the Texas West title by 10 runs, and in an era where runs can be more difficult to come by, outscored the field by a 146-10 margin. After an opening round win at the Southwest Region tournament, Boerne's next six win came against teams ranked on this list, including 2 over #3 GNO and a win over Lake Mary before the Florida team reversed that result in an instant classic U.S. title game today. #LLWS

#1 and #2 in our rankings will be settled on the field in a few minute's time by two teams that were the clear top dogs in this year's #LLWS tournament. Good luck to Boerne and Lake Mary!

Greater New Orleans notched six wins against teams in the Top 15 on this list, including 4 against #14 Eastbank and 2 against #8 Lamar. Boerne's grand slam-fueled fourth inning comeback in the Southwest Region championship game is the only thing that stood between GNO and a trip to the #LLWS

LLB Top 50 #3: Greater New Orleans Little League New Orleans, Louisiana (12-3) #LLWS

The best team you did not see on ESPN this year, Boca Raton's only loss came in a defacto elimination game in their final pool contest at the Florida state tournament that both teams had circled on their calendars well in advance of the game. Lake Mary escaped a potential game-ending threat in B6 to extend the game, then finally subdued Boca 6-2 in 8 innings. Only one other team came within five runs of Lake Mary in their ensuing state and region tournament games.

LLB Top 50 #4: Boca Raton Little League Boca Raton, Florida (7-1) #LLWS

Nevada's third-ever #LLWS qualifier, Paseo Verde responded to an unexpected loss to Montana in the Mountain Region tournament with six consecutive wins in their ensuing region and LLWS games. Paseo Verde topped #11 South Shore and #6 Central East Maui, and their only losses in South Williamsport came to the two U.S. finalists.
