Got my voting done bright and early, then celebrated with a 10k run round our fantastic local parks. 🗳️🏃‍♂️🌳 Good way to start the day.

A brief return here to say how much nicer it is on Mastodon these days. Highly recommend Ivory which landed on iOS AppStore today. It's made the move from Twitter a joy. Great work @tapbots! 👏🐘 apps.apple.com/us/app/ivory-…

Now that @twitter has reenabled delightful 3rd party apps like @tweetbot, is the right response to either (a) continue to ignore it to show that life goes on, or (b) jump back in to show they’ve made the right call by boosting engagement stats? #confusedbutpleased

Has Twitter introduced a read only mode?? (Got this from first attempt to post a tweet in over 24 hours)

This. Don't think I can be bothered with it tbh. Hey ho. 🐘
What an incredibly annoying, in-your-face, thirsty, messy, sprawling, ugly thing the Twitter app is compared to @tweetbot.

Very much like this thoughtful piece on MVP & learning through doing. "In the public sector, many, many employees are already using software which doesn’t do the job perfectly" Something we must all remember as we do the hard graft to shift from eGov era tech to modern digital.
Different conceptions of MVP have caused us so many problems over the years. Despite the name, it doesn't (or shouldn't) describe a product release but a process - a cycle of the build, measure, learn loop.

In the past few months at Hackney Council, I've had the pleasure of working with some enthusiastic, proactive and incredibly talented apprentices. We'll have more apprentice opportunities coming up for roles within ICT, such as delivery managers, data analysts and developers.
Our apprenticeship programme has recently won 3 awards! 2 at the National Apprenticeship Awards and 1 at the London-wide Adult Learning Awards. 🥇 Large Employer of the Year 2022 🥇 The Recruitment Excellence Award 🥈 Runners-up for Apprenticeship Employer of the Year #proud

100% this. Never, ever forget that the folk on your customer service line / helpdesk are among your very best sources of insight.

This - innovation in tech and data is nothing if business models don't change too. Good work team LOTI.
To achieve real change, #localgov must match the level of innovation in tech with equal innovation in the structures, processes & models to which those technologies are applied. Join us next Wed to learn about and help shape how we apply that philosophy to Adult Social Care 👇
