This is a WordPress Admin. Look again if you don't believe me.
I can't stop thinking about this project that brings a new look to what the WordPress Admin "means", with personalization and multi-tasking at its core.
How is this admin look possible?
It's the WordPress desktop-mode plugin.
It's about reimagining the WordPress admin area as a desktop, allowing full customizability.
Drag and drop images from the media into an article you're writing is just one of the things that stood out to me, but you can already spot a new plugins screen and a different way of seeing how posts are connected together.
Try it out if you're curious (link below)
Imagine if WordPress was built purely for writers.
That was the question behind my Write plugin, and I’m incredibly proud to see it forked, improved, and now made available for @wordpressdotcom users.
One of my favourite @automattic Radical Speed Month projects, now live in beta and available to test.
A clean page. A blinking cursor. The formatting you need, and nothing you don’t.
We’d love you to take it for a spin and let us know what you think 👇

It's the end of #RadicalSpeedMonth at Automattic and I'm happy to show off Jetpack Podcast on WordPress.com. I hope this makes it easy for you to start a podcast alongside your blog and newsletter, while retaining ownership of your and your subscribers' data.
It's been a whirlwind of a month! I shipped 39 PRs this month, compared to 9 last month, along with a dozen prototypes. I'm not a developer, so it's been quite the adventure. Thanks to Automattic for the opportunity.
The thing keeping me working on WordPress is that stuff works together.
Today I shipped WordPress Workspace: A way for your WordPress to work together with your Mac. It includes:
- AI Agent
- Screenshot tool / Media Upload
- Voice dictation
So much more in the works
Clips is live! 🎬
Turn any WordPress post into a short-form vertical video, right in the editor — one click, ~a minute, ready to share.
Early preview now on WordPress.com Premium sites.
What a ride 🚀 @saroshaga & I built this during @automattic's #radicalspeedmonth
@automattic creates some of the web’s most popular products.
Most folks know @wordpressdotcom and @WooCommerce . But the wider ecosystem is pretty wild: Beeper, Pocket Casts, Day One, Gravatar, Longreads and loads more.
There’s now a page showing everything we build in one place👇

Week 2 of @automattic#RadicalSpeedMonth is underway and I'm bringing podcast tools to @wordpressdotcom.
Here's a quick demo of progress so far. The goal is to make it as easy to start a podcast as a blog and newsletter, while keeping ownership of your data.
It's just an experiment for now, but I love this way of working. I'm more of a product and marketing person, but I shipped 10 PRs this week. It's so freeing to ditch the meetings, talk to customers, and start shipping.
First #RadicalSpeedMonth learning: when your test blog goes legit and gets subscribers, you should stop using it for testing.
Or Claude will decide to debug an issue by publishing 10 posts and emailing your subscribers repeatedly.
Today, @automattic is kicking off Radical Speed Month. We get 30 days to step away from our normal roles, pair up with someone else in the company, and build something that makes people happy.
I've never had this opportunity in my career, and I may never again.
For #RadicalSpeedMonth, I'm building podcast tools for @wordpressdotcom. You should be able to own your podcast the same way you own your blog and newsletter.
