At a time when Canada is deepening its connections across the world, people-to-people relationships are a critical component of our foreign policy. The Volunteer Cooperation Program is a longstanding initiative which champions Canadian leadership and global solidarity. Great to discuss the program with @N_Moyer, CEO of @CusoIntl.

Pride is both a celebration and a call to action. It reminds us that equality, dignity, and human rights are not abstract ideals, but lived realities that demand our attention and advocacy, at home and abroad. Grateful to have offered remarks on behalf of the government at the @InfoDignity roundtable, an important space to reflect on how Canada’s foreign policy can continue to advance 2SLGBTQIA rights around the world.

Forced labour is a global problem that harms the world’s most vulnerable people. Ensuring that goods produced using forced labour do not find their way onto Canadian store shelves is a moral imperative. That is why our government is introducing legislation—the Ban on Importing Goods Made with Forced Labour Act—that strengthens Canada’s import prohibition measures and aligns our approach with global partners to better combat this issue.
Ottawa moves to tighten rules barring forced labour products from Canada nationalnewswatch.com/2026/0… #nationlnewswatch via @natnewswatch

It is with deep and profound sorrow that we announce and mourn the loss of PC Marc Pinizzotto, 43, of our Emergency Task Force, killed in the line of duty today. Marc devoted 18 years to serving the people of Toronto, including 5 years with ETF. He was a courageous officer, a respected colleague, and a man who put others before himself. Today, a police family has lost their loved one, and our Service has lost a brother. The grief is immeasurable. Our hearts are with Marc’s family, his loved ones, and his ETF teammates. Our members will stand with them, now and always. A hero in life. See my full statement tps.ca/media-centre/news-rel…

Canada and Yukon work closely on priorities ranging from Arctic sovereignty and energy security to strengthening partnerships with Yukon First Nations. Having lived in Whitehorse for several years, the Yukon holds a special place in my heart. Glad to join Premier @CurrieDixon, @drbrendanhanley, and First Nations leaders at the Yukon Days reception in Ottawa.
