I wrote an article the other day describing a political schism I believe has occured in the Left in recent years, which has essentially gone unnoticed, but will define progressive politics over the next decade or two. I've called the new political bloc the Alt Left and it is the reason Kamala lost, b/c this new bloc generally will not vote for left-leaning politicians in their current state.
If you've enjoyed my content and writing over the years, I would ask you to please take a few moments to read this and let me know what you think. It may end up describing you perfectly.
My gut tells me there's a lot of us out there. Millions. And the first thing we need to do in order to make our voices heard within the Left is organize. Our mission is to reform the Left from top to bottom to make it once again reflect classical liberal values.
If you read this a s find yourself thinking "well that sounds like me" follow me over here at @The_AltLeft . I'm envisioning that account as a sort of proving ground for a lot of these ideas. I'll post content designed to stimulate conversation around these topics until we can get to a broad consensus. From time to time I'll post polls on specific issues open only to Alt Left subscribers so that we can further define what the positions are of this political bloc and how we can wield our political power to do the badly needed reforms the Left requires.
Its either this, or throw in the towel and become right wingers, and I don't think any of us want to do that.

This is exactly correct, and exactly why its so important for any sane liberal/progressive to aggressively push back against Woke ideology, where "anti racism" means embedding racism against white ppl into all layers of society and institutional power.
This not only creates the racial tension that breeds genuine racism (we cannot counter "bad" racism with "good" and expect that to even out and lead to good outcomes) but most importantly this kind of weaponizing of race for power will lead to an exhaustion backlash where ppl will inevitably say "who cares?" to accusations of racism. After all, if everything is "racist" than nothing is racist. We are already seeing this.
Society was doing an excellent job policing racism over the last few decades. It was socially unacceptable to be overtly racist for decades. We didn't need police, media, academia, the corporate world and all the institutional pillars of society to ALSO police "racism" by embedding racism against white ppl.
The solution is so fucking obvious and simple: Apply the law equally to everyone regardless of race. Period. Full stop. Forget all the bullshit Identity Politics spewed by Woke ideology and stop trying to right past wrongs by implementing present wrongs, and strive for a truly color blind society (at least at the institutional level). Seek out equality OF OPPORTUNITY not equality OF OUTCOME, and let the chips fall where they may. Equality of outcome is impossible and when we try to socially engieneer it we harm society by killing excellence and fostering mediocrity. We are bringing us all down to the lowest common denominator and society falls apart at the seams, which is exactly what we are seeing everywhere we look today.
It is not an exaggeration to say that the Woke Mind Virus is the biggest existential threat to Western civilizations ability to thrive into the future. We are letting the worst ppl in society drive us into the ground.

I think a lot of people have woken up to the conclusion that the only way to burn off the woke mind virus is to actually not care about racism or about being racist at all.
Pretty soon, if itβs not already happening, anyone crying about racism will met with the default response:
βSo what?β
Do you really want white people checking out like this? Because this is the predictable, exhausted endpoint of weaponizing race for power.
Believe me when I say that we will all come to miss the days when the word βracismβ actually meant something, back when white people still cared about not being called racist.
Gen Z guys are already there. Once that word is completely drained of any real meaning or moral weight, weβll all rue the day we let it happen.

This guy is being criminally charged for criticizing immigration policy. The judge even allows that he is using legitimate facts to make his case that mass migration is bad for societ. He says:
"Even if all of the statements made by Van Langenhove are based on scientific evidence and statistics, it makes no difference to the criminal intent. Van Langenhove is not charged with spreading false information. He is charged with presenting facts in a way that incites hatred against persons on the grounds of one or more of the protected criteria in the Anti-Racism Law.β
Read that again; "....charged with PRESENTING FACTS in a way that incites hatred against persons......etc etc"
This is terrifying to see this kind of authoritarian crackdown on fundamental human rights in a Western nation. Its ironic - although entirely unsurprising to anyone familiar with history - that the side who calls everything they dont like "fascism" is using the courts of law to institutionalize ACTUAL fascism.
They are making it illegal to advocate for any immigration policy other than open borders. How the fuck can we ever arrive at the best policy if its illegal to suggest anything other than the goverbment approved version?
Wokism is a moral sickness infecting all of the global West and if we do not aggressively stamp it out, it will destroy Western civilization.

I have just been convicted a second time for 'hate speech' and it is only due to a technicality that I could not immediately be sent to jail βto the judge's frustration.
In an ironic turn of events it's actually thanks to my previous prison sentence (for memes in a private group chat) that I am now still free βin a physical sense, at least.
Call me naive but I didn't think they would take it this far, given that this precedent criminalises many of the arguments used by even the most moderate politicians critical of mass migration.
In February 2024 I gave a lecture at Catholic University Leuven wherein I linked mass migration to crime and a deterioration of our quality of life. Every single point I made was 100% the truth and based on scientific evidence.

You may think the regime media are being sympathetic to me in the first sentence, but in reality they are warning people: even if you speak the truth, if you go against our narrative, we will crush you in every way possible.
Both the public prosecutor and the judge did not present a single real argument as to how or against whom I would have incited hatred. So even if I would accept their crazy, dystopic law, I still did not break it.
The only argument they present is that I created a "hostile atmosphere of us versus themβ in regards to migrants. But even this silly argument (which is not even a punishable offence) is not true. To me, the deadly disease is self-hatred and one of its worst symptoms is replacement migration. My enemy is thus NOT the migrants themselves but those orchestrating the mass migration.
Sadly, in Belgium, evidence is not needed and βvibesβ are enough to put someone in jail.
Given the fact that I have another court case coming up in September and that I have a dozen active criminal investigations for hate speech, time is running out for me. I have already paid more than β¬420,000 in legal fees and there is no ending in sight. I have been in an intense battle of attrition for eight years and must now regroup to make sure I can still win.

π¬π§ Graphic details emerge in the trial of Vickrum Digwa, who murdered the Polish-British student Henry Nowak
A jury has been shown mobile phone footage of the confrontation.
Digwa told the court he was carrying a 21cm kirpan (a Sikh ceremonial blade) around his neck and feared Nowak would use it against him.
βI thought I had to do something because I was afraid that he was going to stab me with my own kirpan,β he said.
He denies intentionally stabbing Nowak in the chest, claiming he only pushed him away during the struggle.
Nowak attempted to flee the scene, climbing over a fence while Digwa was still stabbing him
Police initially handcuffed Nowak while he was on the ground, bleeding out, due to Digwa claiming that Nowak was a racist attacker.
The court also heard allegations that Digwaβs mother, Kiran Kaur, 53, removed the kirpan from the scene after the stabbing. She denies assisting an offender.

Theres nothing wrong with this, this is assimilation, this is what SHOULD be happening. The problem with the current state of immigration in the West is there isnt nearly enough of stuff like this.
The Woke Left convinced society that it was racist to expect newcomers to conform to the culture and norms of their new country. The resulting lack of any social pressure or expectation to assimilate massive numbers of immigration from one specific country (something like 40% of all new migrants are from India) has created parallel societies within society, and its destroying the social fabric of the nation.

A perfect example of what "destroying the social fabric" looks like is the recent push in the West to do away with jury trials. The UK has already done so and you hear about other Western countries follow suit.
Theyll try to gaslight us by telling us its about "efficiency" or "scarce judicial resources" but the truth is, in multicultural societies where no assimilation happens, trials by jury doesnt work. Theres a ton of new evidence that shows that in multicultural societies, ppl on juries simply support their ethnic compatriot (rhe one exception is white ppl, white ppl dont do this).
Trials by a jury of your peers is a load bearing concept in the foundation of pur entire judicial system, it is baked into our culture and institutions at rhe deepest levels. And its a perfect microcosm of everything thats wrong with current immigration policy and suicidally empathetic multiculturalism; when a foundational pillar of Westwern civilization comes in conflict with modern multiculturalism, we just quietly remove yhe foundational pillar rather than fix the problem by fixing the multicultural problem.
Jury trials are just one example, but this is being played out all over the Western cultural landscape. And at some point, if we remove enough load bearing institutional pillars of our society, eventually it will collapse upon itself.
We cannot afford to continue to allow "multiculturalism " to be a sacred cow in our society any longer. Every policy and concept must be open to criticism and critique, but with this one we all must never ever suggest that it could be harmful, even as its harmful effects are all around us

I'm 43 now, and I've now seen three distinct phases in my life regarding attitudes towards gender/sex. Here's a handy guide for determining which one is the correct take:
1) Pre-1990ish: "Little Billy can't play with dolls b/c he's a boy and everyone knows boys don't play with dolls" β
2) 1990-2010: "Little Billy can play with dolls if he wants, boys can play with dolls. It doesn't make him any less of a boy" β
3) 2010 - Present : "Little Billy IS a girl because he plays with dolls, because everyone knows boys don't play with dolls" β
As we can see, #2 is the correct choice. #1 and #3 are examples of toxic right wing gender norms, and toxic left wing gender norms, respectively.
That's the funny thing about gender ideology; despite its adherents loud claims that they are somehow smashing traditional gender-based norms and stereotypes, they're actually rigidly enforcing them.
The truly enlightened viewpoint is that there is no right or wrong way to be a boy or girl and kids should feel free to explore and play with whatever they want without activists with an agenda slapping an inappropriate label on them and forcing them into a pathway towards lifelong medicalization and dependency on Big Pharma.

This is very profound piece, the click-baity title is misleading, its not more of the same gender wars nonsense. It could very easily have been "why people will never be happy".
The main point is not that women (or men) are more unhappy these days, its that we've forgotten something deeply important: human beings are not MEANT to be happy. We never have been and never will. Life and its meaning comes from struggle and discontent. It is those negative feelings that push us to do the things we need to do to have happy lives.
"Happiness" is not a state of being and it cannot be. It is an offshoot, an indirect feeling that comes from doing the things that we need to do to have healthy, fulfilled lives (work, cultivate social relationships, raise a family etc). The problem comes from the Therapy Talk era of the last few decades that has convinced that happiness IS achievable if we just follow that book, get that job, date that person, make that money etc etc. Weve been told that we CAN achieve a state of happiness by "being" when thats impossible; happiness can only be brought about by "doing".

Its an interesting phenomenon and likely owing to the Lefts successful Overton window shifting and reframing of politics from fundamentally a question of governance to fundamentally a question of morality.
Once the political Left was able to successfully paint anyone who disagrees with them as not just wrong, but MORALLY wrong and a bad person, the women followed in droves. Im not going to make a comment on what that says about female nature (not interested in the Battle Between the Sexes) but I think its not too controversial to say that female psychology tends to be community oriented and consensus driven, which would explain much of this phenomenon.
That's an interesting chart. Young men have stayed similarly conservative for over 25 years, while young women have drifted much further left.
Why such a divergence? What has changed for young women that hasn't changed for young men?
