Published my first solo article and surprise, surprise - it is about water utilities! TLDR: utilities with higher quality staff are more compliant with the SDWA. You can read the details about it here - awwa.onlinelibrary.wiley.com…

It really is all happening! I am so excited to officially say I’ll be joining Saint Louis University’s Department of Political Science this fall! A huge thank you to everyone who encouraged me, listened to my job talk, helped me prep for interviews, and more!
Exciting news for scholars of public admin, water policy, and gender in public management: Later this year @RobinSaywitz will join the political science faculty @SLU_Official.

It's official! Thank you to my committee @MPTeodoro @CookScottJ @robgreer1 and Erik Peterson! And everyone at @tamupols who had to listen to me talk about special districts & city managers the last four years!
I'm delighted to announce that @RobinSaywitz successfully defended her @tamupols dissertation this morning. Robin's excellent work analyzes public admin labor markets--with attention to gender & human capital quality. Congratulations, Dr. Saywitz!

With the House passage of SB2408, Illinois is one step closer to a 100% clean energy future. For years, comprehensive energy legislation that puts consumers and the climate first has been debated while scientists sounded the alarm about the growing impacts of climate change.

The economics of this are mindboggling. A real vaccine card (which has the advantage of preventing you from dying!) is free. A fake one, which exposes you to potential legal liability and doesn't prevent you from dying, costs $400.
With more than 600 U.S. colleges and universities now requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination, an industry has sprung up offering fake vaccine cards. Sellers on the dark web are offering vaccine cards, certificates and passports — some for as much as $400. apne.ws/nXvbXNW

What we absolutely need right now: Jobs, healthcare, justice, climate action. What we absolutely don’t: pipelines.
the federal government is spending more on a pipeline than they are on: testing and contact tracing infection prevention mental health supports guaranteeing paid sick leave ensuring essential workers have PPE providing childcare for returning workers addressing gaps in care 🆒
