Pete & Chloe have won Gipsy Hill ward. People who actually intend to do the *hard graft* of being a decent cllr. Delighted for them both 🍾🥂

Only three Corporate Committee councillors in attendance this evening. One was the chair who is paid to be here, another was the Lib Dem so only one @uklabour cllr committee member present out of the three despite many named substitutes. moderngov.lambeth.gov.uk/mgC…

So @lambeth have an emergency line for what? My carpet in my room is soaked because I’ve had no radiator in there since April because 3 were removed for plastering. My boiler needs filling so I’m without hot water or heating because when trying to fill it the water gushed

metro.co.uk/2025/07/18/9-500… Whilst the upgrade cost is projected to be £9.5m, the total cost of the project is likely to be >£20m when taking into account the additional costs of: - removal of the old tram lines along this stretch of the A23 - implementing Sustainable Urban Drainage

High Court Quashes West Dulwich LTN With Immediate Effect – Lambeth Denied Right to Appeal and Now Faces Questions Over £1m in Fines London, UK – The High Court has issued a landmark Order, immediately quashing the West Dulwich Low Traffic Neighbourhood (LTN), denying Lambeth Council permission to appeal, and requiring the Council to pay £35,000 towards the legal costs incurred by the West Dulwich Action Group (WDAG). The ruling opens the door to serious questions about the £1,080,580 at the last count in fines issued to residents and motorists since the scheme was introduced — money raised under what the Court has now declared to be unlawful. This marks the first time local residents and businesses have successfully overturned an LTN through the High Court, setting a powerful precedent and raising significant implications for councils across the UK.

Witnessed this large hole in a ceiling this morning in #GipsyHill. As ever @lambeth_council seems to be far happier dealing with this through the courts instead of NOT wasting our money and just fixing the problem which was caused by a leak that they left. @Kwajotweneboa

It seems the disrepair officers/managers @lambeth_council don’t read their emails I’ve been writing them since last week Friday (2 May) no response! They like to ignore me but I’m not going away! The officer actually ASKED me what my concerns were, I told her then…

The dust is terrible even the workman said nobody is to go in here. He’s shocked we were made to stay here like this! I guess everyone is human and has a heart except @lambeth_council more hacking tomorrow - more dust!

My solicitor has asked, I been asking from before the works started! Emails sent to the disrepair case manager, her response was she’s busy in meetings all day can I email her which I have twice and no response. 😔
Replying to @RochTS
@lambeth_council did this work, in an overcrowded home, really need to be done with the family in situ? Could you not rehouse them temporarily? There are dozens of empty homes across the borough!

Walls in Every room of our house being hacked off and replastered. @lambeth_council didn’t even take our health into consideration. Myself and 6 children in a small 3 bed nowhere to move around. This is my room I share with 2 children we have nowhere to sleep tonight!

3 of us have asthma dust everywhere! We can’t use the living room because that’s a building site too! They are just going by the surveyor report which says “works can be done room by room” without seeing the size of the property kmt!
