I loved biology and thought I wanted to be a doctor until I realised I didn't like blood and was troubled by patient trauma. I did my A-levels during Covid and my teacher encouraged me to pursue exams based on my interests, not what would lead to a specific career. Gerren Ntiri

Q&A with @GM11Racing What is one thing you learned about yourself? Believing in myself, achieving things I didn't expect I could. I've still got a lot more to go. Did you receive any hate for being a #girl? Occasionally I'd have trouble but you just ignore it. #RaceforDiversity

Q&A with @GM11Racing What's your pre-race routine? General stretching, reaction time warm-ups. Have you ever thought of stopping? Never a moment where I didn't want to race anymore, but you do have times when your confidence is set back by results or accidents. #IWD #teens

What advice would you offer? Pay attention to your health. Figure out what you don't like, as much as what you do like. Never ask what's in it for me? Have a helping mindset. Be interested and be interesting. Have something to say. Always introduce yourself to every room.

Misconceptions about your role? So many parts of my brain that I engage all the time. But marketing is often considered "easy." What inspired you to go into television? I had the passion and convinced my mum I could succeed outside a more traditional route like doctor, lawyer.

How do you combat imposter syndrome? Showing people in more senior positions what I can do. Knowing I deserve to be here. You're here and so am I. If you're the smartest person in the room, then you're probably in the wrong room. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD #GiveToGain

Q&A with Leah Sunshine Is AI bad for society? No. So many forms that we're already living with..spam folders, auto-correct, train timetables. What challenges did you overcome? I was 18 when Covid hit. No clear cut career path. I was made redundant. Yet now I'm a tech founder.
28
Q&A with Leah-Sunshine Why is AI so male-dominated? Women are often steered away from STEM. Industry needs more of us. If you could say to your younger self what would it be? Keep going. Remember your passwords. What's your book about? AI for Equity. #IWD #GiveToGain #teens

Leah. I didn't sit A-levels because of Covid. I studied politics and pyschology at uni. My first job was in finance/accounting. Yet I'm the founder of a platform using real-time data and AI to prevent gender-based violence. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD
