📢📢Considering an e-bike? Know your e-bike class before you buy!
E‑bike laws in California:
🛴Class 1 (pedal assist) & class 2 (throttle assist) up to 20 mph: Can be operated in the bike lane and on the sidewalk in Rocklin. Helmet required for riders under the age of 18.
🛴Class 3 (pedal‑assist up to 28 mph): Riders must be 16 . Helmet required for all ages, and ride only in the bike lane or street.
🛴E-scooters: requires a license or permit. Helmet required. Cannot ride on the sidewalk
🛴OHV: off highway only, not street legal
Licenses are not required for e-bike class 1-3, though class 3 is limited to 16
All e-bikes classes are not allowed in Rocklin parks/trails or on the pump track.
Safety reminders:
🛴 Always wear a properly fitted helmet
🛴 Ride in the bike lane WITH the flow of traffic
🛴 Ride respectfully (knock off the showboating!), watch for pedestrians, and obey traffic signals

April is Autism Awareness Month and we’d like to remind our community about a FREE program we offer to those with special needs, called Project Lifesaver.
Project Lifesaver is a small wearable device that uses radio frequency technology to help locate those who may be at-risk or wander due to medical or neurodevelopmental conditions. The device emits a unique signal and is designed to help first responders reduce search times when a loved one has eloped or is missing.
