I'm not posting here anymore. There's no point these days. The algorithm started deprioritising my content to the extent that hardly anyone sees it. If you want to find me, I'm now posting on Blue Sky. My name there is the same as here: rodduncan

How is Twitter going for everyone? I feel happier having largely abandoned it.

Glancing back in here, I notice the only notifications I've had in the last couple of days have been follows from experts in book marketing etc. Now, back to BlueSky and Insta.

Comparing Twitter and the lovely Bluesky this morning reminds me how Twitter once was. It has changed SO fast since Dr X took over.

Apparently a lot of UK folk have been leaving Twitter for BlueSky in the last few days. I've been leaning the same way following Elon's recent tweets. I uninstalled the app already. If I can make contact with enough of my Twitter friends over there, I will be gone.

A well linked/documented thread from a respected journalist.
1. Colleagues allege that Dr. Hillary Cass, author of the "Cass Review" used to crack down on trans care in the United Kingdom, recomended clinicians read an anti-trans activist book comparing youth transition to the holocaust. Subscribe to support my journalism. Lets dig in.

I've uninstalled the Twitter app on my phone. I'll still be posting and reading Tweets from my laptop. But perhaps with somewhat less frequency. (If you DM me here, I'll get an alert via email - so will be unlikely to miss it.)

Wishing everyone going to Worldcon a wonderful time. I'm still not recovered enough from my post covid fatigue to have been able to attend. But I'm looking forward to seeing your posts.

I dreamed last night that I was working on the novel and glanced at the word count and realised - to my pleasant surprise - that I'd put down 2000 words. This morning, I couldn't remember if it had actually happened. (It hadn't. But I'm working on it.)

I'm enjoying the effect of putting several prints on the same sheet.

Introductions that will have me scrolling double-quick: "Most people will scroll past this..." "Don't scroll..." "Wait for the end..."

Just because you’re loud doesn’t mean you’re popular. The thugs on Britain’s streets last night tried to shriek and bully us into thinking they had a majority on their side, when the only thing they had on their side was bricks. The rest was noise. They’re a tiny fraction of a country that’s much bigger and more generous than they’ll ever be.
