HUGE NEWS - NOT A KU RELAYS REPLACEMENT BUT A KU RELAYS IMPROVEMENT!! Introducing the RunningLane Kansas City Relays - April 17-18, 2026. Born from the cancellation of the KU Relays, we're bringing all the RunningLane Magic to the Midwest to keep the tradition of Midwest speed going. PACE LIGHTS, DISTANCE RACES UNDER THE LIGHTS, MUSIC, FLAME THROWERS, all the things you love about the RunningLane Track Champs…in KC. This will be a regular season meet sanctioned with all state associations that wish to attend. Finally, unlike the 500 Mile rule that Kansas imposes, this will take place on the Missouri side opening it up to all 50 states making the comp even bigger. More info to come on the meet info page: kansascityrelays.com @KansasMileSplit @MSHeartland_ @milesplit @kansasrunning @KCSportsNetwork @CatchItKansas @KCSportsNetwork @BVSWdistance

Just like Wottle’s race, this never gets old.
Today in 1973, the greatest horse race in history was run. Secretariat won the Belmont Stakes by 31 lengths to become the Triple Crown winner and set a world record time that has never been beaten! 🎥: CBS Broadcast

I still contend that if he was paid on commission for all the revenue he generates both locally and nationally, he’d be considered grossly underpaid.
Record deal: The Chiefs are adding two years to Patrick Mahomes’ contract, tying him to Kansas City through the 2033 season at a value of $504.75 million, making it the first NFL deal valued at over a half-billion dollars, per @RapSheet and me.   Equity Sports CEO Chris Cabott, and Chiefs GM Brett Veach and his staff, put the finishing touches on the landmark agreement today.

Cooper Lutkenhaus now has more Diamond League wins in the last four days than every American men’s mid-d/distance runner in history apart from Yared Nuguse and Donavan Brazier.

At this point, I’m almost speechless.
Cooper Lutkenhaus, who I must continue to stress is a 17-YEAR-OLD AMERICAN, just took down world and Olympic champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi to win the 800m in Oslo. His time of 1:42.08 is the fastest in the world this year.

This is getting interesting.
Two more athletes have filed a lawsuit against PUMA following a similar claim made by Abby Steiner in April. Champion Allison 🇺🇸 and Damion Thomas 🇯🇲 allege that several PUMA spike and training shoe models contributed to injuries that have prevented them from competing at the elite level of the sport. The complaint names models including the Deviate NitroElite 2, Deviate Nitro 2, Deviate Nitro, evoSPEED Tokyo Nitro 400M and evoSPEED Tokyo Brush, alleging that the shoes' carbon-fibre plate and nitrogen-infused foam technology posed significant injury risks. Thomas said learning of Steiner's alleged injuries led him to reconsider his own injury history and the footwear he had been using in training and competition. Allison ran 43.70s in 2022 at the US Trials, just after a brilliant NCAA career and would go on to finish 4th at the World Championships 400m final in the same year. His best since then was 45.49s. In April, Abby Steiner 🇺🇸 filed a lawsuit against PUMA, claiming defective shoe design caused injuries that required multiple surgeries and effectively ended her professional career.
