Alleged U.S. airstrikes overnight hit two water storage reservoirs in Iran's Sirik County, Hormozgan Province, reportedly leaving many without water. Images of remnants posted by Iranian media show the remains of a U.S.-made GBU-39 air-delivered bomb. osmp.ngo/osmp2336/

My latest book, Buckshot & Beehive, is now in stock and shipping from @headstampbooks. The book looks at the 40 mm APERS cartridges that were products of Cold War-era R&D and rapid-fielding initiatives, covering various novel designs. headstamppublishing.com/purc…

I am delighted to finally see the information in this report made public. It builds on work conducted since 2017, and identifies a direct-fire CW capability developed by IS. It wouldn't have been possible without critical inputs from each of my co-authors & confidential sources.

A lot of hand-wringing lately over GBU-39 guided bombs potentially falling into unfriendly hands. As Trevor, I, and others have written, these have been widely used and are not that sensitive. The recovery of a Talon in this condition would be a far more significant TECHINT coup.

This. And because—despite what many accounts are screaming into the Twittersphere—Iranian AD has, in fact, largely been neutralised and air superiority (supremacy, really) has been achieved over key portions of Iranian airspace.
People are asking how CSAR helos can operate over Iran after an F-15E and an A-10 were shot down. It’s because the CSAR package doesn’t go in alone, it brings a world of hate with it. Any threat to the helos gets swarmed by a pack of rabid dogs. It’s still risky as hell, but overwhelming firepower lets us stack the odds in our favor.

Reports indicate more than 12,500 combat sorties have been flown over Iran by U.S. aircraft. Claims of new hyperadvanced missiles and “passive IR cameras” somehow being magic new tech are ridiculous. There are still threats, of course, but current narratives are overstating them.

I was drafting a short thread on the subject last night, but Air Marshal Bagwell has covered it well below. I would reiterate his point about the potential for rapid OSINT analysis (conducted in a public forum) to aid Iranian forces. Please be mindful of this.
Some thoughts on the Combat Search & Rescue Mission (CSAR) today over Iran. Normally, these would be highly sensitive, but in today’s connected world that ship has well and truly sailed. But, as we await official confirmation, I will be guarded in what I say. 🧵1/11

During the ongoing Iran War, the United States has employed some of its most advanced munitions to conduct precision strikes. One of these is the AGM-158 Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile, or JASSM. 🧵Here’s a breakdown of the JASSM:
