Thank you for @KBibbinsDomingo for the opportunity to talk about AI & radiology. I’m glad your fondest memories during residency call was talking with the radiologist about clinical uncertainty!

BREAKING: You paid for that MRI. You stayed still for 45 mins. But guess who owns the image? Not you. We make the case for collaborative healthcare capitalism - where patients own their scans. 👇 Read & rage (or agree). #PatientRights #HealthData doi.org/10.1016/j.acra.2024.…

The number of CT scans for “venous insufficiency” has suddenly gone up. Any know why that might be?

The first rule of economics is to value scarcity. Many physicians mistake scarcity for lack of value. Neurosurgeons are scarce, therefore valuable
New rule, if you are at the top of the physician income ladder you do not get to speak about Medicaid, reimbursement or otherwise. You should just be quiet and enjoy your enormous salary. Respectfully.

👏Good move. Maybe one day every radiologist will have a personalized AI-robot assistant who can measure nodules, attend to contrast extravasations and, with a bit of training, read stories to their kids during bedtime
It’s pivot season in radiology AI ! 👇 @viz_ai goes into EHR NLP. @qure_ai launches a voice assistant for doctors. Big funding needs big markets. Radiology was the beachhead, EHR clinical workflows are next. 🚀

Pleased to write this play, Doctor’s Trilemma, with Jyotirmoy Talukdar from @AshokaUniv wonderfully performed & directed by the students led by Tatenda Kasitomo. Thanks to Ashish Makani for his input. The play touches on a few social themes: mob violence against physicians in India, high frequency of fatal snakebites in rural areas, & the reality of being a physician in rural India. There is an subtle dig at economists - if you can spot it! Hope you enjoy watching the performance youtu.be/4JEHHyLB0HY?feature…

Congratulations to @DrJBhattacharya. It’s good to have an economist leading the @NIH to better understand trade-offs. He’s the right person to get back robust debates - the essence of science thehealthcareblog.com/blog/2…

This arrived in the mail earlier this week. PhD thesis aside, I think this is the first time I've had my name on the cover of a book. Thanks @ErikRanschaert for including me in this effort; great to work with you, Mohammad Rezazade, Willem Grootjans on the latest in the series!

Good post. It doesn’t mean that expertise is useless. It just means that it’s not 100 %. Wisdom lies in realizing that imperfection is still very (very very very) good

Biggest threat to radiologists. a) AI b) Extenders c) Outsourcing d) Asteroid Who’d have picked (d) 10 years ago?
🚨#BREAKING: NASA officials now report a 2.4% chance of an asteroid striking Earth in 2032, up from 2.3% few days ago. This equates to a 1 in 42 chance of impact, with a 97.6% likelihood that the asteroid will miss. The asteroid is estimated to be between 130 and 330 feet in diameter.
