Rojava Information Center provides accurate, well-sourced, transparent information from on the ground in North and East Syria - @RojavaIC@mastodon.social
[NEW REPORT]
This report investigates alleged violations during Damascus' January 2026 attack on North and East Syria (NES).
Full report: rojavainformationcenter.org/…
Last week, approx. 1,300 SDF members entered a training program under the Syrian Ministry of Defense (SMD), marking a significant step in the ongoing integration of NES' forces into state military institutions.
This is the first group of trainees, with two more groups to follow.
"Internal Security Forces of the STG & SDF intervened. Those responsible for the escalation were later arrested.
At present, the situation in Kobane is calm. Some social media pages circulated claims that the army had launched attacks. These reports are false."
According to our sources on the ground:
"Some tensions occurred between Kurdish and Arab communities. In Ashme village, which is located near Ja’di village, a dispute broke out between residents of the two villages. The situation escalated, and weapons were used."
[APRIL SLEEPER-CELL REPORT]
The Rojava Information Center (RIC) has published a report documenting sleeper-cell attacks and anti-ISIS raids throughout the month of April.

RIC researcher, Robin Fleming, said:
“Despite the fact, sleeper-cell attack rates have been low throughout 2026 concerns remain that the STG won’t be able to sufficiently counter the threat of ISIS. Attacks may have been low... but raids & arrests of cells were even lower."
*Disclaimer: Our sleeper-cell reports will continue to focus on and collect data from regions previously under the authority of the SDF, such as the Deir ez-Zor countryside, Raqqa, and Tabqa despite the fact that these regions are now under the STG.
A new piece in @thenewregion by @vvanwilgenburg quoted RIC researcher Ghassan Bazo concerning recent elections in North and East Syria (NES):
"Even after recent unity talks many core disagreements remain unresolved."
