Today we're announcing two product changes for organizing communities on X:
1. XChat now supports joinable links for groupchats. Create a public link & share direct to Timeline. With support for 350 members per chat (and growing), Groupchat Links are the fastest way to bring people together on X.
2. Due to declining usage, we're deprecating X Communities on May 6.
To migrate your Community's members, pin your groupchat link so people can join it over the next 2 weeks.
This is part of our broader effort to simplify the experience on X. Make no mistake: we are investing heavily in niche communities with the launch of Custom Timelinesβand much more to come.
Community note
Communities' purpose is different from chat. Communities works asynchronously, meaning members can browse posts and choose which ones to engage with.

This bill AB 2624 will:
- Criminalize journalists with misdemeanors, $10,000 fines, imprisonment, and content takedown
- Let immigrant based NGOs' funding be confidential
- Take away freedom of the press from journalists
- Protect any "immigration support services" information from being public (healthcare, legal services, etc)

π¨ Here is the full 40 minutes of my crew and I exposing California fraud, Minnesota was big but California is even bigger... We uncovered over $170,000,000 in fraud as these fraudsters live in luxury with no consequences. Like it and share it, the fraud must STOP.
We ALL work way too hard and pay too much in taxes for this to be happening. These fraudsters have been able to defraud American taxpayers for years without any pushback from the public and politicians.

I think @umbrel may have redeemed themselves this time around with their Umbrel Pro. It's still a bit expensive but the build quality is great, its low power, and most importantly...I actually like the software now.
