Not to sound bleak, but life has taught me that not all people are created equal. It's a lottery, and it's a zero sum game. There's often one person or a small group of people reaping a large majority of the benefits while others are stuck suffering. It sucks but that's life.

There will always be someone who reaches a goal sooner with less work than another. That's why comparison is the thief of joy. You can say "look at this man who has it all". But is that man truly happy? God only knows. You may end up happier having worked harder to get there.

I'm glad I got to have a good experience at EVO before it got too expensive. Going to EVO back in 2022 I think was the best major experience I've ever had, even though things were a little more locked down due to covid at the time. The Suite of History was peak.

Couldn't go this year because of the price and also because I chose to go to Combo Breaker. Since I can only realistically afford 2-3 majors a year tops, I opted for Combo Breaker because I've never been there. It also saved me a lot of money since I can drive there.

At this point, if I can manage to win Soul Calibur 6 at one major, I'll be content and will have met my goal. As it stands, I've been to most of the main majors. Still haven't been to ones in the Northeast though, as well as potentially any popping up in the West Coast.

I sincerely hope the remake serves to not just retell what we already know in the story, but to actually expand upon it and cover more lore that as kids (and adults) we spent hours pondering and theorizing about. The dying guard scene especially.

Remakes should serve to expand on creative visions, which can now be made with fewer limitations. I think it's a crime whenever a remaster/remake comes out, and it literally makes zero additions to the lore/story.

Imagine if we had a Dark Souls 1 Director's Cut that included all the cut stuff they didn't have time to include. I would pay Fromsoft whatever amount of money to have that version of the game.
