"We are now back home with many happy memories of a very special break." Carol & Brian, wonderful
#volunteers for
@TorchTrust , recently enjoyed a memorable, well-earned break thanks to the wonderful
@RutlandHall. This is what the simple donation of an unsold room can mean.
ALT An R2R postcard with an amber border and picture of Carol and Brianin the bottom left corner. They are stood with the green garden and hotel building - a grand country house - behind them. The nomination says: "It was Carol who instituted the popular Coffee Mornings at Torch House. She bakes and buys treats to feed the 30-50 blind and partially-sighted guests and companions who gather for conversation. Brian, at age 93, can still be found sitting just inside the glass entry doors at Torch House opening the door for each guest as they arrive, a smile and a joke ready on his lips. Both Carol and Brian help wherever they can."
Thank you all for this wonderful break at Rutland Hall Hotel. The Hotel staff were so welcoming and attentive. We were met on arrival where staff spent time chatting and getting to know us. They were so delighted that their hotel could be a part of supporting such people-focused organisations. We had such fun with them & have happy memories of a very special break!"
