He uses his own time and vehicle to bring patients to the Day Hospice every week, saving around £2000 in taxi costs each year – a total of up to £70,000 saved in his driving volunteering history alone Over the years, Terry has become a firm favourite with day patients with some patients requesting him to be their driver each week. His level of experience and loyalty to the hospice is simply incredible." About the break, Terry says: "The staff were friendly, polite, always ready to help and the food was first class. Our room had an outstanding view of the whole bay, the sea and The Cobb – it literally took our breath away! I got up at 6.30am to see the sunrise, so worth it! Thank you so much to Hotel Alexandra & R2R."

She bakes and buys treats to feed the 30-50 blind and partially-sighted guests and companions who gather for conversation. Brian, at age 93, can still be found sitting just inside the glass entry doors at Torch House opening the door for each guest as they arrive, a smile and a joke ready on his lips. We were met on arrival where staff spent time chatting and getting to know us. They were so delighted that their hotel could be a part of supporting such people-focused organisations. We had such fun with them & have happy memories of a very special break!"

The nomination says: "Pete and Jan have been wonderful volunteers for several years. Pete was first involved with Willow in 2014 and has regularly volunteered ever since – supporting the fundraising team in the office and volunteering at our large signature events as well as at our local community events. Pete and Jan regularly attend events in the community, running a games stall for children to raise funds for Willow. Jan has volunteered in one of our shops since it opened in 2015. They are our dynamic duo." About their break, the couple said: "We are just back from a wonderful break in Devon at Thurlestone Hotel where we had a great time - it's probably the best coastal hotel we've stayed at in England. We are really grateful to R2R, the Willow Foundation and Thurlestone Hotel for such a memorable experience."

Carol is always happy to join in, support new and existing volunteers and be there not only for her own scheme, but the wider CFR community." About her break, Carol says: "What an amazing break away I enjoyed in Bath. I am passionate about my voluntary work as a Community First Responder and to be rewarded for doing something I love was truly special. We had a beautiful room and did all the tourist things in Bath. It was just what the doctor ordered and we both came back feeling refreshed and chilled out.”
