Your Delivery Driver is on their way…to Jail
If you’re going to ask for directions while delivering food, perhaps you shouldn’t ask while driving a stolen car.
But if you do, you should definitely ask a Boulder Police officer.
Might not seem likely, but that’s what happened late Sunday night when Officers Hill and Coffee spotted a stolen car coming into the city thanks to our use of the Flock camera system. Using an unmarked police car, the officers followed the stolen vehicle when suddenly the driver called out to the officers and asked for directions to deliver some food.
Officers then took both the driver and passenger into custody. Turns out the female inside the car had two prior motor vehicle theft convictions as well as an active drug trafficking warrant out of New Mexico. When officers searched her, she was found with .29 grams of methamphetamines and .49 grams of M30 blue pills that contained fentanyl. She also had three credit cards that did not belong to her. She was charged with unlawful possession of drugs and felony possession of a financial transaction device.
The male in the car was also found with methamphetamines and charged with motor vehicle theft, drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both individuals were booked into the
@BldrCOSheriff jail.
Officers also found in the car a fake BB gun, that had been altered to look like a real gun, and a large knife next to the driver’s seat of the vehicle.
We’re glad we could remove these dangerous items from our streets and return this stolen car to its owner. Good work, officers!
