Let's rewrite history for the sake of genocide Yesterday’s ruling from the Royal Courts of Justice is a monument to injustice. It is a farce dressed up in pantomime wigs and gowns, a verdict that stinks of imperial panic. The Court of Appeal upheld the designation of Palestine Action as a terrorist outfit. Bonkers! In doing so, it did not simply defend a legal judgment or political choice. It prostituted the law in service of Imperial genocide. Lady Chief Justice Baroness Carr, in her boundless wisdom, declared the group unlike the suffragettes because they fail to operate “transparently in the open.” This is not legal reasoning. It's fascist levels of imperial corruption with cucumber sandwiches on the side. The historical revisionism is breath-taking in its gall. The judge simply erased what the suffragettes actually did. The bombing campaigns. The arson attacks on churches and infrastructure. The letter bombs. The direct assaults on the machinery of state power. All of it vanished. In their place, gentle docile kittens were conjured up, rule-abiding ladies who never coloured outside the lines. I’m pretty sure you can’t make it to becoming a judge, without knowing the first thing about history. It was a calculated erasure, performed live by the highest judge in the land. Its purpose is to protect the sacred fiction that resistance to empire’s crimes must always remain polite, contained and ultimately useless. When the British establishment goes to such lengths to distinguish its own militant feminist history from decent people today protesting genocide, you know they're on the back foot. They need to maintain the fiction that Palestine action has some connection to terrorism which makes them more dangerous or worse than previous heroic protesters. When they decide to rewrite the suffragettes as harmless tea-sippers to justify crushing solidarity with Gaza, the game is up. We have reached the terminal stage of moral decay. This is what a dying empire sounds like. It still has judges but the judges themselves are prepared to debase the whole legal system in order to maintain a propaganda line that never worked and could never work because it’s so obviously disconnected from reality. That is the tragedy.

The US can't bomb, sanction, or regime-change the world into eternal unipolar dominance anymore.
