Despite widespread industry hype around advanced technology, 80% of U.S. manufacturing facilities currently operate without automation. Fully automated factories remain rare in the country compared to China and Japan, according to insights Intrinsic Chief Technology Officer Brian Gerkey shared with Manufacturing Dive. A Deloitte survey found a stark disconnect which revealed that while 92% of manufacturers viewed smart manufacturing as their primary competitive driver, only 29% actively used AI at the facility level. Fragmented legacy computer systems, expensive testing costs and difficulty scaling beyond initial pilot projects heavily restrict widespread deployment. Many mid-sized manufacturers intentionally delay major automation investments until direct industry peers have clear economic value and return on investment for these technologies. #RoseInt #PeopleMakingItHappen #Manufacturing #IndustrialAutomation 📷: Canva Pro, Shutterstock

Recent findings showed AI tools revived and elevated junior-level employment opportunities. Strada Education Foundation’s survey showed that nearly three times as many corporate executives at organizations using AI expanded their entry-level hiring instead of cutting back. Over 40% of leaders reported that automated systems gave younger employees greater analytical responsibilities and job complexities. As employers like Salesforce recruit tech-native college graduates to supervise and direct AI agents, this structural shift allows entry-level workers to avoid repetitive administrative tasks and focus on high-value outcomes. #RoseInt #PeopleMakingItHappen #AIjobs #EntryLevelJobs
