ALT Comparison of forecasted constraints from halo PDF theory (blue lines) and halo power spectrum theory (orange) and their combination (black), shown for the cosmological parameters {Ω_m, σ_8} and 1 bias parameter b_1 = b_1 − 1 for each redshift. Constraints are marginalised over all other bias and shot noise parameters. Results for the halo power spectrum at different k_max (orange solid, dashed) illustrate that only information beyond the mildly non-linear regime can break the degeneracies present in the perturbative regime.

I attended the Interact Symposium today, it was great meeting and learning from so many science communication experts. I also got to run a workshop on sonification and talk about Audio Universe and our plans to make a sonification toolkit for educators and communicators!

Sound on! New sonification of a black hole! Based on observations of an accretion episode in March 2018, producing energetic jets of particles and radiation. X-rays are represented as noise and visible light as a musical chord. Notice the delay between the different wavelengths!
