Miami OT Francis Mauigoa’s recheck is complete, with no new issues or concerns, source says. After the request for a recheck was made in early March, Mauigoa met/visited with teams in the top third of the first round, an sign of his confidence any concerns would be satisfied.
Congrats to @CanesHoops and head coach Jai Lucas on a terrific season. And thank you to all the fans who supported us throughout the year. The future is bright for Miami basketball! #GoCanes
EXCLUSIVE: @RobDauster talks with @CanesHoops coach Jai Lucas after their win over Louisville 👀
"I keep taking Malik Reneau for granted. I'm screaming at him the whole game... and then I look down and he's got 24 and 8. That's the standard I hold him to" - @CoachJLuc
Time to start giving Jai Lucas his flowers for year one at Miami.
Hurricanes win at SMU tonight, to improve to 24-6 overall, 13-4 in the ACC and (unless my math is wrong) clinch a double-bye at the ACC Tourney.

I know I’ll sound like a Miami homer but the initial flaw in this and a lot of rankings that under valued Miami was the pre season bias toward the SEC in particular and against the supposed lesser Power 4 conferences (Big 12 and ACC). Just because SEC teams have bigger crowds doesn’t mean they have better teams. But the pre season bias really damages a Miami or any non SEC/BIG 10 school simply due to these presumptions before play begins. Conference road games are hard in EVERY conference. Indiana to a lesser extent was also consistently overlooked due to their logo not what happened on the field.
And because I haven't annoyed people enough today ... I re-visited my Ranking All 64 CFP Teams To Date list! Ranking Miami (started low, rose a long, long way) was damn near impossible.

When @MarkRicht took the Miami job, he made it a point to visit the local youth teams. It wasn’t necessarily going to pay off during his tenure, but he did it for the long-term health of the program.
The young man to his left is still throwing up the U. Malachi Toney.
