AI-assisted coding turned me from someone who designs systems into someone who also builds them 🛠️ I’ve spent 10 years working between business and IT, currently as an IT architect: translating messy business problems into requirements, systems, trade-offs, and workable solutions. I’ve always been close to technology, and I’ve done low-code development, but I never really saw myself as a developer. Now, when I run into a problem, I don’t just look for an app. I try to build one. Daily habits → app. Home workouts → app. Finance tracking → app. Small workflow problem → product idea. The interesting part is that my background helps more than I expected. Product thinking helps me shape the problem. Requirements engineering helps me make it concrete. System thinking helps me avoid building random features. Architecture helps me see how the pieces fit together. So this is now a serious hobby that got slightly out of hand. I get even less sleep than before 😅 I’m building web and mobile apps alongside a demanding office job, two young kids, and limited spare time. I’ll use this account to share what I build, what I learn, where I get stuck, and whether any of these small bets can become real products.

1000 followers. Started this account as an IT architect who designed systems on whiteboards and in documents. Now I'm building real products, shipping them publicly, and launching X Reach Lab this weekend. Met a lot of smart builders along the way. Grateful for that. Back to building 🛠️

The product is ready. I’m not. That’s the part you only learn by living through it. Shipping isn’t a technical problem. It’s a personal one. X Reach Lab goes live this week.

Claude Code vs Codex. Not which is better. Which one for which task. I find myself choosing Claude Code for complex tasks, and Codex for everything else. What do you use?

@RoyInProgress. Building X Reach Lab, analytics with a signal layer for what actually drives growth. One of the better builders I've talked to this week.

Anthropic just launched Claude Fable 5. Cool. But it won’t tell you what problem is worth solving. It won’t fix your distribution. It won’t make your startup work. The hard parts are still up to you.

Most of my building happens on my phone. Kids, day job, always on the move - laptop access is the exception, not the rule. Feels weirdly normal at this point. Anyone else?

Building with a day job and kids means guilt is always running in the background. > guilty when you’re building instead of being present > guilty when you’re resting instead of building > guilty when you’re at your desk instead of with your kids There’s no clean version of the day. You just keep showing up anyway.

Gm ☕️ Starting the day by executing the first mission: write an update about what I’m building. Today: → improve clarity on the Signals screen → finalize onboarding flows for X Reach Lab What are you working on today?

Week 23 review. Spent less time posting. More time improving X Reach Lab. This week’s review still showed clear patterns: → build-in-public updates worked → warm-network replies worked → short questions still pull attention Review. Learn. Repeat.

It’s Sunday. Time to reflect. Everything that worked this week is a signal. Everything that didn’t work is also a signal. Both tell you what to do next. What did you learn this week?

Very little sleep last night. Today I didn’t post much. Barely replied. Still shipped a small improvement to X Reach Lab tonight. Quiet progress still counts. Tomorrow the build continues 🛠️
