Stop looking at your phone between lines of dialogue. Of course it 's going to affect the writing. Do you think Tolstoy looked at his phone between paragraphs? Tolstoy turned off his phone during writing hours. Always.

Tried watching maximum pleasure guaranteed on apple. Great title. Reminds me that people can accept a big fanciful premise, but you will lose them if the details of your world don’t ring true.

Enjoyed Obsession last night. Good film. Not complicated. It is trying to be fun. That was its only agenda. And the theater was full on a Monday night. Lower budgets fun. I’ve said it before, but this is the way.
A 26-year-old director made ‘OBSESSION’ in just one month on a reported $750K budget. Now it's targeting $300–330M worldwide. That's the kind of success story Hollywood dreams about.

There are only two kinds of movie scripts. 1. I want to spend two years on this. 2. Others.

On voting day, 60% of the vote was counted and announced. 4 days later, only 64% of the vote is counted and announced. There is no target date for completion. In many other countries, they count all the votes on voting day and they announce the winner that day.

The standard reaction of any Hollywood denizen to any new tech (going back at least to the Internet) is “if I could snap my fingers, I would make it go away.” You’ll fit right in, Mr. Parsons.
‘BACKROOMS’ director Kane Parsons says he would get “no enjoyment” out of using generative AI on any project — “It defeats the purpose entirely for me.” “I think I'm in the same boat as most well-adjusted people. If I could snap my fingers and make generative Al disappear forever, I probably would.” (Source: theaustralian.com.au/subscri…)

If you’re in spec scripts, pivot to spec scripts online trailers and in-universe content.

This began as a thought experiment and ended with a shocking conclusion: Obsession has already outperformed the entire 2020–2025 Sundance U.S. Dramatic Competition lineup combined. STORY HERE: open.substack.com/pub/hollyw…

Will become increasingly common.
THE ANDROMEDA STRAIN (1971) didn't have a traditional screenplay. It had the first example of a CINESCRIPT: an amplified screenplay that combined text and printed visuals to communicate the intended visual language before production began.
