Grandma always disciplined the kids with her slippers. If they misbehaved and ran off, she’d throw one and never missed.
For her birthday, they placed a bottle on a distant table and handed her a slipper to aim at. She hit it perfectly.

Alas, the slow cooker version is juicy and tender but the bacon does not brown. I prefer an oven braise over this method. It is delicious nonetheless. Aromatic, lightly spiced with that bacon flavor to accent it all.

Good Sunday morning to you all!
Cooking a corned beef brisket in the slow cooker today. I normally oven braise it for 4 hours but the oven is broke. We shall see how this method works.
