Nah @MLB and @MLBPA you can't keep doing this. It's not just Reynolds and the Pirates today. Many times you have denied challenges that were immediate. You need to start discipling umpires. This is not a serious sport if umps can deny the rules when their feelings are hurt.

It is crazy seeing people won't watch and the season is over at 36-37. With that said, not looking forward to watching Triolo

The Nationals case is totally separate from this instance where the rules were clearly violated. Did you also notice that the Giants player who decided to wear the normal cap wasn't punished? That's because they were not forced to wear it and instead decided to deface it.
What does MLB think it’s doing penalizing players for their Christian faith? They owe us some answers. Right now.

Is there pressure to conform from fans to wear the hat even if you don't agree with it? Of course. But you can't save people from public opinion. MLB has shown they are not required to wear the caps, but if you do, don't deface them.

Baseball is a fickle and punishing sport. It can also turn around in a heartbeat. You need that fire and passion from the managers and teammates to get there.
12 days ago the Pirates were up 4 runs on the Astros in the bottom of the 8th, and a win would’ve put them 6 games over .500

A season can't actually be lost this early. However, if a team is just going to roll over every game, then things need to change. This is where a manager comes in or one of the coaches to make a fix. You can't just hope it works out. Show some life or get out of Pittsburgh.

I think he is already their everyday catcher except on Skenes days so probably not too many changes there. Good to see some offense out of that position.
If there's one bright spot from tonight, it's Endy Rodriguez yet again He's 3-3 tonight with a BB after this HR. Batting .268 with a .905 OPS now. 106.4 MPH exit velocity, 406 feet, HR in 22/30 ballparks

If the reason they are doing this is because of Carmen and his agent, then he should be released or traded. If they are doing this on their own accord then someone needs to be fired.
Absolute malpractice by everyone involved in deciding to burn Carmen Mlodzinski in a game with a 6.7% Win Probability. Exhausting him in this game is absolute insanity. This is so fucking stupid.

Would be a great time for one of those patented miracle comebacks for the Bucs

Once the Pirates cut ties with Ozuna, I don't think O'Hearn being full-time DH is a bad idea. Reynolds has proven he can hold his own out there. On another note, Gonzales has looked really comfortable at short. Imagine that. At least while Griffin is out he should stay there.

Does Don Kelly actually provide any value to the team? At the end of the day the players need to play, but if he isn't helping then maybe someone else could shake some sense into them.

These little league ballpark are a lot less fun when your team can't take advantage and the opponent is hitting mickey mouse homers 326 ft

OK so it wasn't just the Pirates then
Dustin May. 1 Hit Shutout. 🍾

I guess Carmen and his agent decided he will only play if he doesn't fully assume the bullpen role. It's a shame that one of our best arms in the bullpen doesn't want to help the team win.
#Pirates insider @JMackey_PGH confirms Carmen Mlodzinski will pitch tonight against the A's in a piggyback role. Jared Jones gets the start for the Buccos at 9:40. @937theFan

OH SO IT'S NOT ILLEGAL TO TAKE TRIOLO OUT OF THE LINEUP HUH. WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS ONLY NOW

Ya "All-Star Starter" doesn't really carry weight anymore. Luckily Lowe will still likely make the team with the portion not open to fan vote
Guess who is #2 behind Ozzie Albies in NL all-star voting

Not sure why we are using Taxi Squad Bidois instead of Mattson, but he will be back in Indy soon. The Pirates just need to hang out around .500 until the ASB. By then, Cruz and Griffin should be back and they can get a boost before acquiring relief help at the deadline.

Either the bullpen needs to give up 1 run or less or the Pirates need to hit with RISP. When neither happen, you're going to lose every game.

Pinch hitting for Henry Davis is automatic, but not a single thought about taking Triolo out for Valdez or Ozuna? Am I getting that right Don Kelly? What am I missing as to why he takes every at-bat for two weeks?

Why wasn't Mattson starting the 8th? You can't have less confidence in him than Bidois. I get players have to play, but Bidois over Mattson never makes sense.
